The Arc Light Event Space — Attraction in Oregon City

Update: All of our concerns were addressed by the owner themselves with our Pastor, and that speaks volumes for their level of care regardless of what happened with other staff members!

I am hesitant to leave a review, yet multiple factors have caused me to reconsider. I was at the same wedding as another reviewer Pastor David Mathews. (Who left an honest review showing frustrations we all saw and faced) and instead of addressing the points that caused that review, our own ministry - that I am a part of, was given bad reviews in return by this venue.

I have done many weddings - handled the position of coordinator, decorator, and even officiant. For this wedding however I was attending as a family friend and solely helping with the music. In my opinion at a wedding there are always stresses and high emotions, but it is the responsibility of all involved to aid in making the day go smoothly - or why else be in this business.

With that said, the moment we arrived at rehearsal (10 minutes early) - having no idea of the venue’s contract rules, seeing as once again I am a helper who has had no dealings with this venue nor information outside of an address to show up at, walked inside and were coldly informed we were early and that was not really appreciated. I completely understand if that is the rules - what I do not appreciate is being treated rudely or made to feel ignorant. Manners and a professional approach in my opinion speaks volumes and I would have gladly returned downstairs as it was a misunderstanding.

As the evening went on, once issues came to light regarding the venue and its state of unpreparedness, only then did the attitude change towards us, and apologies were issued. No problem, perhaps now we would be able to move forward and be cordial to enjoy the day.

Day of, yes the microphone died in the ceremony. Accidents happen, once again in that situation professional response and preparedness is what is anticipated from a venue with this prestige and price….and not quite lived up to. As the evening went on it seemed there were many background issues being aired, perhaps lack of communication all around, frustrations between the different coordinators involved, yet at the end of the day I would expect all that to be kept private and once again a professional attitude presented to handle the day. By the end of the night, the wedding coordinator had left and we were basically told the staff was done and breakdown began. I was told this a guest who just happened to be willing to try and figure things out.

I will say the staff members were excellent and went out of their way in the awkward circumstances to try and help and keep a smile. Perhaps some were having an off day, perhaps communications weren’t done correctly, or maybe it was all a perfect storm, but either way a venue of this prestige and price I would expect to be prepared to handle it gracefully and...

I recently posted a negative review regarding a wedding at this venue that I officiated. This generated a response from the owner of the Venue that completely changed my perspective of how they run their business. Though I was disappointed and posted why, she assured me that she would address my concerns and did so in a very humble, professional way. In the aftermath, having weighed all the things that did occur, I do believe that going forward the Owners and Staff will make this a completely wonderful experience for those who use this facility. Would I recommend this venue? Had she not called - NO! But, now, it is evident that the Owners will do their best to ensure a satisfied customer, even when they receive criticism! That speaks volumes about their integrity and WE suggest you contact them for your special events! We definitely will! Thank you ASHLEY!...

My wife and I had our wedding at The Arc Light and had such an amazing time. Working with Violet and Rachel was a joy. They were incredibly responsive to any questions we had and made sure every detail was taken care of so our day went off without a hitch.

The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. The separate rooms where we got ready were thoughtfully designed and made the whole experience so comfortable and stress-free. The main hall is timeless and beautiful on its own and really doesn’t need much additional décor at all. It looked incredible both in person and in photos.

Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the space and how smoothly everything ran. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to help make our wedding day so special. We highly recommend The Arc Light to anyone looking to host...
