I had heard that there was good Pho in Oregon City and was pretty skeptical. But my friend is a trusty foodie, so I gave Pho Thi a shot. Took my family there last night for the first time. The food was FANTASTIC! Oh wow. Order the pot stickers. A bit pricey at $7, but they were VERY tasty, and I think they make their own sauces because they were delicious as well. House Fried rice - Amazing. They serve it with egg that my dad used to make (he spent his formative years living in Thailand). It was really homey tasting, and reminded me of him. Not sure others will like the taste, but brought back great memories for me. It had plenty of sausage and shrimp. Delicious! Basil fried rice. My wife thought it was really good, but this dish was just okay for me. I like my this dish a bit more dry (I don't care for my rice to get too saucy). We split a bowl of wonton soup with everyone, including our 3 kids, which they loved. I really enjoyed the soup sides of peppers, mint, and bean sprouts. My kids passed on those. They don't really have a kid friendly menu, but my kids survived with the soup and teriyaki chicken dish. We ate all the chicken (great flavor), but left the veggie sides as my kids aren't big fans of sliced carrots and cucumber. When the bill came, it was more than I'm used to paying for Thai food, but then the quality is far superior, so you get what you pay for. Overall, very enjoyable evening. We came at 6PM on a rainy Tuesday night, and the place wasn't crowded. Food came out as each dish was done, so everything was fresh and hot. We shared everything family style, so that wasn't an issue. A new dish arrived every 4 minutes or so. But that might have been weird if none of us were sharing and people would have to wait a long time for it all to be ready at the same time, or you could sit there and watch your friends eat while you waited for your food. Our server was great! Provided extra bowls for the soup, had such a great smile, and very attentive without being obtrusive. Conclusion: Food quality and taste is exceptional. Price is reasonable, considering the quality. You may have to wait because they are cooking the food fresh, but for our family, it was worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and...
Read moreI don't know what the food is like here but the service was down right terrible. It was a Saturday afternoon and we wanted to try this place out. It was raining out and the small waiting area was already stuffed but we managed to squeeze in. The group of four in front of us just seated themselves and so we just stood in line. We stood there for 5 minutes watching the 2 waiters walk around aimlessly wiping empty tables and pushing a cart back and forth for apparently no reason. One waitress just kept pacing from empty table to empty table wiping it a second or third time. They were completely ignorant of us and simply turned a blind eye to the growing amount of people being squished awkwardly in the tiny waiting area. I was in a party of four and there was obviously an empty table but they just kept on ignoring us. We decided to just sit down and neither of the two waiters or bartender came by to give us a menu or help us. They just kept on pacing back and forth and fiddling with an empty cart. It was so frustrating that we decided to just walk out of the restraints. There was no point in sitting there if they were obviously not...
Read moreWe have lived in OC for several years but seldom eat carbs thus have never had Pho Thi before. Based on so many great Google reviews, decided to try it tonight with a to go order. The salad rolls indicated we were off to a good start. They were excellent but peanut sauce serving was a bit skimpy. Then on to Chicken Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken. Such a disappointment and because this was really a special treat for us, the disappointment was exacerbated. There was virtually no chicken in either dish. Literally a few scraps in each. The pad Thai noodles were so over cooked they were mushy and overall the dish lacked taste. The pineapple fried rice had four pieces of pineapple, two cashews and one raisin in it. (Indeed we counted as it looked like no more than plain noodles and plain rice when we opened the containers.). The rice was dry and stuck together in clumps. We both thought these were perhaps leftover from the night before and warmed up with a few additional ingredients added? Perhaps we just happened to try this restaurant for the first time on a bad night? Very...
