Comfort Suites Near Universal Orlando Resort — Attraction in Orlando

Pros:

1. It is close to Universal Studios theme park if you are there to visit the park.
2. Affordable, simple, clean room with daily house cleaning.
3. An available shuttle bus arrangement to the theme park through a collaboration with two other hotels. A reservation is required for the bus from the hotel to Universal Studios, but the schedule is very flexible. The shuttle back to the hotel is flexible.
4. Complimentary, stable wifi available.
5. Wholesome breakfast with fruits provided. The lady who manages the breakfast was also very helpful and efficient in keeping the eating area clean and ready for the constant flow of guests.
6. Pleasant, helpful staff members.
7. Close to at least 2-3 shopping malls.
8. On an active bus route, with the bus stop right outside the hotel on the main road. Both the green line (i-trolley) and red line buses ply this route and their map is posted at the stop. Additionally, Google Maps provides their route, bus numbers, schedules and they are usually on time. The cost of the bus is also very affordable, and the drivers are pleasant and helpful.
9. Very close to affordable restaurants, and with the active bus route you can go to restaurants further afield.
10. It has a small pool for guest use.

Cons:

1. A good distance from the airport so an Uber or taxi can cost over US$65 before tip.
2. We reserved the hotel through my travel agent and could not find a way to contact the hotel closer to the time of our arrival to make sure everything was ok with our booking.
3. The hotel room is very basic and old-fashioned. The phone in the room also does not work - it was damaged.
4. The shuttle bus arrangement is made through the Holiday Inn Express just across the road, but the reservation desk is open only from 7-11 am daily. So if you arrive after 11am you will have to wait until the next day to reserve your space on the bus to Universal Studios.
5. While the hotel provides breakfast, it does not have a restaurant so you will have to make your own lunch and dinner arrangements.
6. They don't provide "Do not disburb" door hangs for the rooms, which I usually use to keep house keeping out of the room until we leave. Maybe that doesn't matter to others, but I don't like strangers in my personal space, even a temporary one, when I'm not around.

Overall, I do recommend this hotel if your main purpose is not for the hotel stay, but just for a clean space to rest your head after a day out at the theme park,...

I called the hotel directly to make a reservation and the desk agent who answered the phone transferred me to general reservations. I am a disabled person and when speaking with reservations, I informed them of a room that I had found online at a rate of $89 per night. This room, according the online information, was a King Suite Non-Smoking with a roll in shower. I specifically mentioned to the reservation agent that I needed a roll in shower due to my disability. The reservation agent assured me the reservation was made for the correct room. Upon arrival to the hotel, I was informed that the hotel did not show my reservation for a room with a roll in shower, in addition, the hotel informed me they had zero King rooms available that were handicap accessible. I ended up having to take a King Suite Non-Smoking room that was not accessible, with a tub, and they brought me a shower chair to set in the tub so I could take a shower. However, the shower did not have a handheld shower head, which made it very difficult for me to shower, I only have one leg and I had to stand up numerous times in the tub in order to rinse myself off from the soap. The manager I spoke with at the hotel did compensate me by giving me one night for free, I was staying for two nights. Personally, under the circumstances, I should have been given my entire stay for free since I booked through Choice Hotels reservations for a specific room and the hotel was not able to honor my reservation. The room itself was okay and overall cleanliness of the hotel was okay. Staff was friendly under the circumstances. I would most likely not recommend this hotel to anyone and will probably not stay here again due to this situation. As a disabled person, I need to know that the room I need is available for me, especially when it is reserved through the hotel...

You have to love ❤️ this place, for the money you pay to stay here I don't know what more you could want!|The location is absolutely spot on really just behind international drive, its literally 10 mins in a uber or lyft to the new epic universal, then make sure you buy a ticket for the itrolley on international drive the hotels I'd say a 5 mins walk to either stop 9 or 10 just cut through fish bones or take the bridge over by the oshucks pub. Then the world is your oyster as they say with this ticket you can get to seaworld, aquatica, fun spot, shopping malls, just pick a map up and have a look 👀|Think the hotel will soon be a universal hotel as a bit of work is taking place at the moment but none of this has affected us. Free breakfast consists of toast, scrambled egg, sausage, cereals, waffles, yogurts, hot and cold drinks and is more than enough to keep you going. The motel has a pool with sunbeds and small spa area which is lovely and i have made use of on a couple of occasions.|There is also a gym and laundrette available for all to use. Rooms are great, only incling for me, the pillows are really small could do with being doubles!|Other than that the staff have been very efficient with daily bed and towel changes.|Maddy on reception is a little beaut, no problem too big or small and she's always happy to help with that beaming smile.
