Awesome security detail, my friends and I originally loved this place because we felt SAFE… but don’t get too comfortable here. Apparently some of the bar staff (Sean) will gossip about you and recruit other employees (Sydney[and ex employees, Gabriel]) in attempt to bully you and even incite violence. Luckily security deescalated the situation but it feels a lot like a high school drama here. As a business owner myself, I believe management should take their responsibility more seriously in who they choose to run the spot when they’re gone. I attempted to contact management about the issue and got no response as they seem to ignore emails & the phone mailbox stays full so you cannot leave a message. But on the upside, Dallas makes great drinks! & some nights the music is upbeat and versatile which makes me wanna buy more drinks as it’s a nice change from the usual rock or elevator tunes. But unfortunately, my friends and I no longer feel safe here so we’re looking for something new.

Every time I’ve gone to Guesthouse, I’ve had a terrible experience. The acoustics are horrendous—it’s just a big, echo chamber box where every sound bounces and gets painfully louder as more people arrive. For anyone even remotely sensitive to noise, it’s an instant sensory overload. The lighting is just as bad: super dark inside, with harsh, awkward shadows that make it hard to see people’s faces, especially in the early evening when daylight outside only makes the contrast worse. It somehow manages to be both gloomy and unflattering at the same time. Honestly, I’d rather go to the shabbiest dive bar in Orlando than come back here. The drinks are fine, but nothing about the atmosphere makes up for how physically uncomfortable it is to be here. I’m actually sitting outside right now, just trying to pull myself together before I leave. They really need to fix the lighting and the acoustics. Until then, I can’t recommend this place to anyone.

To wrap up my ā€œNegroni Weekā€ (which, let’s be honest, turned into more of a Negroni month šŸ˜…), we headed to The Guesthouse. The vibe was effortlessly cool, and the staff made us feel right at home, welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft. I went straight for the Strawberry Sbagliato: ChambĆ©ryzette, Campari, a pinch of salt, and sparkling wine. It was refreshing, bubbly, and delicious. Not exactly a Negroni, but the Campari still shone through, giving it that bittersweet edge I crave. Definitely a perfect celebratory sip. Somewhere in the visit, we ordered another drink, but let’s just say Negroni Week had caught up with me, and the details got a little fuzzy. šŸ˜… What I do remember is chatting with one of the bartenders about Enrico Toro Centerba 72, a unique Italian liqueur they use in cocktails. That kind of insider conversation is what makes places like this so memorable.

What a different experience!

I have gone to guest house multiple times and never had any issues always a great experience and vibe. The music was awesome and we did have a great time until the end....

This was a fist and I was shocked that a place that thrives on classic cocktails as their base menu had a bartender with issue with making something as simple as a paper plane.... That's not the root of the problem, I manage and design bars for a living I know not everyone is going to know every cocktail.

The issue was the bartender repeatedly asking my name for the tab after taking my card when it wasn't excessively busy, and then when my bill came I was over chardged excessively due to her mistakes. She also didn't know how to adjust a tab and thought she was just going to charge me multiple times. When I explained to her the issue and how to fix it she accosted me and then got confrontational telling me she was the one that was "LIT" and I wasn't... It was beyond unprofessional/rude and I was honestly shocked.

I would never want to see such a great place go down due to someone drinking excessively on the job and not being able to function as a base level bartender while doing so. I was shocked at the way she didn't apologize for her mistakes but got irritated for being called out for her mess ups. I am beyond understanding and was coherent during the whole situation situation, mistakes happen it's easy to do and a simple fix (when you aren't hammered).

I do this for a living. I understand having shift drinks and bartending is a lot of fun but you shouldn't pass a line where your words are slurring and you are rude to guests over your own mistakes.

OWNERSHIP please audit your sunday staff you have a great environment, a great atmosphere, in a great location and I would hate to see hostile intoxicated and uneducated bartender destroy your reputation. The other bartender came over to rectify the situation and was also heavily intoxicated but at least he was apologetic, adjusted the payment for the mistake and offered a discount. This is something I wouldn't want a regular bar patron drinking to encounter.

I do truly love this place don't let this deter you from trying them out this was the first time I've had such a disappointing encounter the staff is...

So I want to start this review off my saying I’ve always LOVED The Guesthouse! The drinks have always been awesome! The service has always been hit or miss.. but the drinks made up for it. I’m easy to please! BUTTTTT!!!!! Tonight changed all of that. Right after I had closed out my tab and was getting ready to leave, we had a friend call and say he forgot to close his tab, and asked if we could try to do so for him. So I knew what the answer would be, but my friend tried anyway. Of course, as any bar should, they said that’s illegal, you can’t do that. Perfectly understandable! But then they said something that made no sense.. ā€œWe will close out the tab at the end of the night and add a 20% tipā€

Now, I’ve worked in the service industry for the past 10 years, and at every single establishment I’ve ever worked at, this has been considered forgery, and grounds for immediate termination. UNLESS it was clearly stated throughout the bar as their policy!

So I called someone over and explained the situation and asked about the tip. I found out we were speaking to the manager? But all she did was get mad. I explained that us writing in the tip, which is illegal, and the establishment writing in the tip, are all in the same. She got more mad. I asked where signs were posted about their policy, she said nowhere. She didn’t like that she was being questioned at all, but I’ve known plenty of people who were fired for this, so I took it personally. Also, without consent the whole charge can easily be taken back by the credit card company, so I’m not sure why this would be their policy?

After all this, when we were leaving, we heard other guests laughing at us, saying something about us doing something illegal... Guests the ā€œManagerā€? Was talking to. So after all that I have an amazingly disgusted taste in my mouth from a bar I use to love. I even tipped well because I’m in the industry... I should have just not closed out and left them with a 20% tip rather than 40%, which is clear now was far too much.

Never talk to someone in the industry that way... ALWAYS treat guests...

I was a loyal customer at this bar for over 4 years and never had any issues until one night when I was put in an incredibly dangerous situation. I found myself alone and surrounded by 5 aggressive individuals in the parking lot who were threatening me and pushing me. While I was trying to defend myself and avoid escalation, a bartender named Dallas intervened in the worst way possible—she physically assaulted me by attempting to tackle me, joined in with the group, and even disclosed my private information to them. She was extremely intoxicated.

Thankfully, a bystander stepped in and helped me escape the situation. The next day, I returned with the Orlando Police Department to report what happened, especially regarding my private information being shared. The staff dismissed it as no big deal and assured me it wouldn’t be a problem, I declined to press charges out of loyalty, However, when I came back the following week, they asked me to leave, claiming they needed ā€œtime to pass.ā€

To respect their wishes, I stayed away for 3-4 weeks. When I finally returned with friends, I was again asked to leave without any clear reason. This experience has been deeply disappointing and alarming, especially after years of being a regular customer spending thousands of dollars.

It’s clear this bar does not value customer safety or loyalty. Staff should never act violently, let alone share private information with people ready to harm a customer. I can’t recommend this place to anyone—please be careful if you...
