Reasons NOT to live at Studio Parc:
This is a short list of reasons why I'm getting the hell out. Studio Parc is over-priced for what you get and the problems are never-ending.
Unprofessional. Overpriced. ...
Read moreFrom the moment I moved in it was a shakey experience. The house was infested with roaches and it seemed like they just bombed the place before I arrived and didn’t even clean up the dead roaches. They didn’t have any other units available when I asked to me moved to a unit that was READY for move in. I lived there for a year and paid for pest control … and had to fight every day to live peacefully. Who wants to wake up to that and go to bed going on a rampage to kill every bug seen? Ugh it was relentless. Their vents seem to have never been cleaned, just pained over and painted shut so I had to cover most of them to prevent bugs from coming in from other apartments and just use a fan my time remaining in that place. I left the house cleaner than when they gave it to me and because I had fiber installed they charged me basically my whole deposit for that simple hole repair. My car got towed by them, I work during the hours of their operation and they failed to provide me the tags to park. They confirmed that them having my information for my vehicle was enough for them but apparently there was a slip in their communication & it was still towed. In addition, my overall rent would increase over time due to hidden fees that could not be explained to me. God forbid you try to call the office, forget about it… you won’t get through to anyone and even when you do the person who answered cannot help you with the matter at hand, you’ll have to email someone who does not reply. Why pay for amenities that you cannot enjoy. Services that are not fulfilled. The door for the gym was always locked via secondary lock & the key fob would not unlock it as it should. The jacuzzi was always under construction with caution tape around it, tile broken around it. The only people they hired that actually do a great job are the landscapers that alone I can say was always on point. The perimeter to the pool area was under construction multiple times cracked tile, that they just put broken sea shells to cover making it a hassle to even try to go to the pool or gym. God forbid it rained earlier, it was a safety hazard to walk on. The bathrooms at the pool were always filthy, dirty floors, no soap or toilet paper. It’s embarrassing to have guests over to experience that. Maintenance for the apartments … forget about it. My washer almost caught fire because they reuse old washers and dryers and do not do safety checks. I had to force shut off my washing machine because it started smoking. The maintenance guy attempted to run it again and it flooded the room. The maintenance never came to pull up my carpets or fix the water damage. They just came in , walked through the swamp changed the machine and left. I had to use my carpet cleaning machine to get all of the water out and mold started growing overtime because the carpets were never pulled up. It got to the point where I got a reaction to it in my eyes, throat, and nose. You feel like a burden when you try to get things rectified by the management team. Just an overall stressful experience living there. Save yourself the headache and do...
Read moreThis place is not good, and I would not recommend it to anyone. My GF and I moved down from NY, and had to put in extra time finding a place to live because it was going to have to be sight unseen. Studio Parc told us that rent would be $769 per month. The bill for our rent the first month was $815. Many things are tacked on including a billing fee for their "billing services". Gotta love paying extra for someone else to bill you. When we asked about this, they told us, "We're sorry. We didn't have a community manager then, and the man you dealt with was only a sales rep, and they sometimes leave details out."
Since move-in, we have had to deal with many issues. Our washing machine has been broken for months. Many calls to the property office have still not resulted in its repair. Our dish washer has been broken for weeks and has again, been reported multiple times. If you inspect the unit closely you will see that there is substantial mold in the bathroom area, it was just painted over with a thin coat of paint that quickly strips off within a month. The maintenance staff is friendly, but the fact remains that these issues are not being resolved...at all.
The apartment complex is nicely maintained but there is a but...Security is a concern. I have been home and had people come to my door after dark (latest incident was 9 pm) asking for money. You will see people walking through here at all hours that do not live here. My GF travels for work and has been harassed with comments by guys on the balconies of our building at night and no longer feels safe. Also, noise can be a major issue particularly if you're on the bottom floor.
If you move here, you may have to deal with "community beautification projects". In December (right before Christmas!) on very little notice (we were told we should be lucky that we got any at all), a work crew tore our apartment apart for 8 hours to replace windows and door, which is work that normally does not occur until you move out. Recently, while I was traveling for work as was my GF, they decided to, again with little notice, renovate the parking and tell residents that they had to find alternate parking or they will tow your car at your expense. They will never tell you exactly when this stuff will happen either, it's always vague. Management will also give out the keys to your apartment to contract workers coming in for projects but will not supervise these strangers when they enter your home when you're not present.
The management is terrible. Currently, we have no community manager and will not for the near future. When management is present, there is a high turn over. We are on our 3rd manager since move-in August 1st.
Bottom-line, they do an amazing job here of trying to hide these issues before you move-in. From pictures, the place will look really nice, but it isn't. If it looks too good to be true, it...
