What a great shop! While visiting Cape Cod to fly fish stripers from the flats, I was bummed to find the tip top of my #1 rod dangling above my fly. I don’t know where or how I broke it, but there it was. My buddy suggested we go to Goose Hummock to see if we could buy a new tip. At the shop, Ian took one look at the rod and tip top and said, “we might be able to slide that right back on the (now 1” shorter) tip section. We went to the back of the shop and Ian torched the broken piece out of the tip and hot-glued the tip back onto the blank. To say he saved my trip wouldn’t do him justice. On top of that we had a lively conversation about all kinds of fun topics.

Read moreI asked for a new Predator 13 and for them to deck it out with what ever it needed to excel the fishing experience. They suggested a fish finder…. That’s it . Which was fine , I wanted more but was novice to the kayak world. I asked them to install the helix . That’s where it really went down hill. Electrical tape is what connected my battery cable to the humming bird wires .But I didn’t find this out till a little water got in and the screen fry’d. not to mention they took weeks to deliver it because a “license marine electrical inspector “ had to sign off on it yeaaaaa right!!!! and now I’m out 500$ I called, they said they would call back NOPE....
Read moreI can't remember if, during all my decades of staying on the Cape, I ever bought anything here, but I've loved the place ever since Governor John Sargent bought it after he left office. I'd met him in the early 70's when I volunteered in his Office for Human Rights. I hadn't been back in in years, but stopped by last week and saw the best fishing gear collection I've ever seen in my life. It reminded me of seeing the guns at Bannerman's in NYC in the 1950's. Just more and more gear to drool over. For lovers of beautiful mechanisms, this place is wonderful! I would think that people who actually like fishing would...
