Unfortunately, they really dropped the ball on our wedding. Luckily, we had amazing vendors to make up for it. From the tour and communicating with the event coordinator, they seemed really hands on, but did not handle much of anything day of. Last month communication was extremely slow on their end. Our dj was told last minute they require insurance (they have not needed insurance for events prior) and were told 3 days before the event. We gave them the djs information months prior to event date. Then when they got there the dj was told they did not have space for their equipment (there was more than enough space when they set up and there was a large space dedicated to them on the floor plan). We emailed prior about putting the heater outside and were told they would do so, but it was not done until the grooms mother asked day of when people were already on the roof and cold. They also told our guests we declined the heater when that is just not true. We were also told day of there was no groom get ready room, however on the tour we were told there was and we told them we would like to use it. Our main communication was muriel, but she disappeared very early into the day and Stephanie seemed like she had no idea what the plan was for the wedding. Many of our vendors complained of the event coordinators being rude and they were confused. For the ceremony the power was not on outside and the dj had to run last minute to find someone to turn it on. For the ceremony space plan we were told they would put 70 chairs outside, we asked for 55 chairs, and there were no more than 30 chairs outside and our bridesmaids had to run around fixing and finding chairs and guests were still standing at the ceremony. If the event co-ordinator could have communicated prior that they didnt have enough chairs we could have accommodated. We were told they were rude about placement of the cake and getting us a table to hold the cake. When we were under the assumption and told that they handle tables and chairs. The space is beautiful and I really wish the event coordinators were more on top of things or communicated with each other better when handing off events. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this space to others for weddings because of the way ours...

I’m a big museum person, especially when the cost of admissions is minimal or nonexistent. In this case, it’s completely free to visit the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens! Though they do appreciate donations.

My favorite part of this place is most definitely the gardens. They aren’t huge, but you can easily still get lost walking around them. There are a couple of bamboo forests that are so peaceful and pleasant to listen to when the breeze blows through them. You can also find some hidden creeks, gazebos, and gorgeous flowers intermittently. And don’t miss the waterfall right at the front of the gardens next to the museum!

The museum itself is very small. It’s all mostly based on a veteran named Malcom Fraser, who started using art as an outlet and teaching instrument after coming back from war. His paintings all have very religious themes and are so beautiful and emotional. You can find a few other artists’ work scattered about, but his certainly take front and center. And it’s pretty neat reading about his backstory.

It doesn’t take long at all to go through all the art, you would at most need an hour if you’re wanting to walk through the gardens as well, and even that’s putting it liberally. I’m not sure I’d come back now that I’ve been, but I’d definitely visit if you’re in the area and have...

We mainly toured the gardens and barely spent any time inside of the art museum. It's a cute little place with plenty of beautiful plants to tour. Along the way, there are small statues and outdoor art pieces to enjoy, as well.

The art museum itself seemed as though it was on the small side. The building is small, though we didn't spend enough time inside to truly know, so I can't really judge it. There's a beautiful sculpted art piece hanging overhead when you first walk in, though, that I absolutely fell in love with.

The gardens have a small waterfall running over a hill of rocky cliff-like structures. Watching it run along the rocks and listening to the gentle roll of the waters is very peaceful. I had to get a small recording of it, as pictures along won't truly do it justice.

The gardens are also a bit small overall, so the walk is a quick one around the area and won't really take you longer than an hour if you're not stopping inone spot to soak it all in. There's also plenty of shade provided by the plants around the area, so the heat doesn't get to you as bad here as it might in other places.

Overall, it's worth visiting. It is a free event, though they also accept donations to help...

Features a tranquil garden setting with features like a labyrinth and small waterfalls. The gardens are a magical greenspace with adorable turtles, singing bamboo, and a serene vibe. Features a Melaleuca (Paperbark) is a moderately large genus of small to medium sized Australian native trees in the same family as Gums (Eucalyptus), Bottlebrushes (Callistemon) and Tea-trees (Leptospermum). In early settlement days, Paperbarks were often called Tea-trees as well. Also a Dragon's Nest Bamboo plant. As the culms move, friction occurs at the nodes (the joints between segments), between adjacent culms, and among branches. This friction, especially at rough surfaces or points of contact, produces squeaking or creaking sounds. These noises are more pronounced if there are imperfections or dryness in the bamboo, which can increase friction and even lead to micro-cracks that contribute to the acoustic effect. The overall soundscape includes not just squeaks but also rustling leaves and the occasional hollow knocking or clicking as culms bump together.
