I would give 3.5 stars, mostly because of the price, even with being close by the beach. For lunch/dinner a plate can be $15 and up without a drink, add $3-4 for a drink. The dessert is pricey, really would get dessert elsewhere. Also they do charge extra if you use a card so bring cash if you want to avoid the extra fee (I did not know this). The food was good, not too different from what you can find at other spots though. Serving size was enough to fill you up and potentially have leftovers (depends how much you eat). The menu is large so if you have a group with different likes, there should be something for everyone. I did really like the ham croquettes and the price for those was comparable to other places I've been --would go back for this but not lunch/dinner. Service was normal, its just to take your order and bring your food out--you order at the register and then can dine in if you would like. Would note the plates used for dine in option are disposable, the silverware is not. It was not busy when I went, but with that said, the food came out pretty quick. Place seemed cleaned. They do have chairs and tables inside. The parking is in the back of the plaza. Located on the second floor...
Read moreTried this place for the first time today tried the chicken and bananas as well as the beef. The chicken was just shredded chicken. No red sauce inside was very dry and tasteless. The dough from the empanadas was over fried and very greasy sweet plantains had a wonderful garlic dipping sauce. I’ve never tried it that way and it was superior absolutely delicious tasted very caramel flavored. It wasn’t my favorite of all especially for eight dollars. It was just ordinary. My husband tried to picadillo with white rice and black beans. It was just ordinary nothing special overall it was close to $40. Just food nothing special the beef empanadas were tasty, but the dough was very greasy, and very hard there was a decent amount of filling not a lot but decent it had good flavor like I said the bananas were the winner. Plantains plantains with the dipping sauce were extraordinary. I have to say it was the winner of today food the beef empanadas were pretty good. Everything else I wouldn’t, get again parking lot was questionable. You had to pull in the back past big dumpsters full of old carpet and trash. I was afraid to ride over a nail. A lot of renovations in and out of...
Read moreI'd give it a 3.5 and will go back to try more and update the review accordingly. Here is our first take:
Friendly staff, clean, large menu selection, good parking in back. Decent flavor and decent prices. Food was quick to the table and hot.
I dont believe they serve alcohol. Somebody else commented that they charge a fee for credit card use. I didn't see a sign, nor was it mentioned. I wish they would better inform their customers about this if true.
The cuban sandwich was very large and was good but somewhat dry. It could have used more sauce/mustard or something.
Minor Note: They have Hunts rather than Heinz ketchup on the table. The taste is totally different with these two brands of ketchup, so I'm just noting for other ketchup lovers.
Go check them out and see for yourself as it is worth trying. I think they will get even...
