We hired this company to build us a custom fountain in our courtyard. The original bidder ended up leaving the company soon after we made out initial deposit. The owner stepped in to take over after many delays, reassuring us that he could still do the job. I had one concern.....I don't want it to leak since this was up against our house. Again, confidence and reassurance that he could do the job correctly and he talked us out of cancellung the contract. A start date was set, again.
The construction was subbed out to another guy who the owner hadn't worked with a lot. There was little communication between them and early on it seemed the left hand didn't know what the right was doing.
The construction finished after again months and months of delays. The fountain leaks...we called to report and that started a cascade of silicon applicatiom over the beautiful and expensive tile we picked out. It still leaks, so more silicon. It still leaks, more silicon. You can imagine now what that looks like. Essentially our tile covered in silicon, masking it's once beautiful surface rigid and uneven. And that would be fine except, the fountain still leaks. They told us it was from the wind splashing the water, we proved them wrong with water meters to reflect that there was water 'behind' the fountain.
The owner has the audacity to ask me to pay the other half of the bill. I explained in no uncertain terms that I would pay for it once the project was complete. After multiple 'solutions', the fountain still leaks. We have an 8x10' waterfall we can't use, with a water reservoir that collects alge and stench.
Instead of doing the job right and fixing the problem as the owner promised in the beginning, they've walked away from it and we're left with ruined tile, $2500 of countertop I can't use the massive fountain. His own employees explained that on order to fix this they would have to tear the whole thing down and start again. But because they would be out the cost of all the materials again they decided this job was too hard to do it right.
Beware of bad company practices, miscommunication, lies, delays, lack of integrity, shifting blame, and leaking fountains! I would NEVER recommend this company and caution against doing business with them. Maybe you don't care if your fountain leaks but when I spend tens of thousands of dollars on a project, I expect it to be done correctly, as first mentioned. I don't expect perfection, I just want them to own and fix any mistakes they made and take responsibility.
Even if they refunded me the original half down (which he never offered) I'd still have to pay someone to take this out and I'm out the additional material cost I paid out of pocket. They have yet to suggest a solution or options to make this right.
Given their defensiveness on other poor review responses, I'll expect Daniel to try to somehow turn this around in an attempt to salvage his reputation, which would further substantiates the lack of integrity. They know they screwed this project up.

Read moreHaving just moved to Oro Valley and acquiring a Koi pond with turtles, I was at a complete loss on how to care for the Koi and pond. I didn’t even know the basics and a quick Google search was overwhelming, so I went to Tucson Cactus and Koi.
24 hours later, I have a firm grasp on how to maintain my pond with the best potential for my fish to thrive!
Daniel is an expert at what he knows and is humble when he does not know the answer, BUT, he is willing to find the answers! His patience with me was refreshing. His depth of knowledge was impressive.
Kris was just as helpful! She too was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! When she was uncertain, she turned to Daniel for confirmation!
On a chance, I met Justin and another young man that were extremely welcoming and helpful at answering my questions!
While the store was thriving with costumers all around, I still felt like I was heard and given the time I needed to learn all I could!
The resources they all provided has been reassuring that I too, from a basic level can help my Koi thrive!
One thing that was especially refreshing, is the dedication to the customer they are working with! Did the phone ring, sure did, but the entire staff was respectful of my time, the callers time and the company time.
I’d strongly encourage whoever reads this to visit the store for themselves and don’t sell yourself short by a phone call! Visit in person, you will not be...
Read moreI usually enjoy my plant shopping experiences, but last Saturday’s at T. Cactus & Koi certainly was the exception. I purchased a plant that was on display outside. After a couple days at home the plant had withered to a crisp. I called in and explained what happened. The salesperson-Haley-invited me back for a replacement. I felt satisfied. Not long afterward I answered a call from the owner. From the beginning I found his th one to be defensive. I explained that in my experience of shopping for plants in the Tucson area (from Cactus nursery), those that are displayed outside are usually acclimated. And that if that plant required frequent watering until fully acclimated, as a courtesy to customers that fact could be communicated. Ever on the defensive he told me “if you had any questions you should have asked, “ and, “It’s common sense that you would water it every day.” And abruptly he hung up on me. I think this is an example of very poor business management—I’ll never go...
