I would give this store a 0 if I could. I took my daughter there for a prom dress. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a nice but a little pushy woman. My daughter wasn't happy with the dresses that she did find to try on. She was asked to take off her shoes and PANTS out where everyone was. My daughter is very reserved and doesn't even like to get undressed in front of me. When I asked if she has to I was barked at by one of the associates that it is their policy. When I asked my daughter if she was ready to try on the dress she said she didn't and wanted to leave. We did , as we were leaving they insinuated to each other loud enough for my daughters to hear that my daughter didn't have underware on. Which she most certainly did have underware on!! My husband called to have a private confidential conversation with the owner, she proceeded to put him on speakerphone for the whole store to hear their conversation. Again, during that conversation the employees were yelling and laughing in the background that she shouldn't come in a store to try on dresses without underware on. Which again was not the case. She is just a very self conscious private person. I would not recommend anyone to go there that has a reserved daughter. The unprofessionalism was way off the charts. They also have a German shepherd in there getting dog hair all over the dresses. I will never return to that store again!
Edited to respond to the owner: First of all my husband didn't write this review. Second of all my daughter most certainly did have underware on! To insinuate so is unprofessional and rude!! Also, it's sick and twisted to down play her feelings by making up a story just because you couldn't get a sale out of us!! The reason she never even went to your back room to try on the dress is because she felt so uncomfortable. She followed her gut and decided to go home. Obviously, according to your reviews my daughter isn't the only one that felt uncomfortable in your establishment, even after going back to your "private rooms" with see through curtains. BTW, I overheard my husband's conversations to you, after you unprofessionally announced to him that you had him on speakerphone for the whole store to hear, he was relatively...
Read moreVery unprofessional and negative experience. I went to this shop looking for a prom dress. As soon as my family and I arrived, we were greeted with a relatively kind but pushy woman. The woman and I picked out two dresses I liked; then, a different (black haired) woman came over to ask what school I attended (they need this information so two girls don't show up in the same dress on prom night) I told her I attend a cyber school, and she replied "oh good for you." in an unpleasant tone. I thought it was an odd response, but ignored it. We then proceeded to the dressing rooms where I was hollered at to remove my shoes and pants BEFORE entering the dressing rooms. I was caught off guard, because I am an extremely sensitive person due to a past incident. I don't even allow my own mother to see me undressed. My mother knows this; so, when demanded to remove my pants IN PUBLIC; she asked why this was necessary. She was then rudely and cockily yipped at by two members of staff (one being the black haired woman.) I was so uncomfortable that I told my mother I wanted to leave. As we were walking away from the women, the black haired woman loudly "whispered" to her other coworkers "no underwear" (when I did in fact have underwear on) she said this loud enough that my sister heard her as well.
In short: staff is rude, pushy, and unprofessional. DO NOT SHOP HERE.
Edit to respond to owner: This must have been a misunderstanding, because I was told to leave my shoes outside the fitting rooms; and in that same sentence I was told I would have to remove my pants. You never specified that I could go to the fitting room to do so. You just said I must remove my pants. You made it sound as if I had to leave them with my shoes. It is very unprofessional to call a customer a story teller just for leaving a negative review; further proving my point. I was simply sharing...
Read moreThis is our second year in a row purchasing a dress from Foot Lights Boutique for prom and I wouldn't shop anywhere else!!!! The staff and owner are the most courteous, really go out of their way to make their customers feel special! They spend the time with handling each dress appropriately and even assists with zipping once you are ready to step out of the private dressing room. They even turn the lights off to showcase how "sparkly" the dress will look on the dance floor! Gina the owner knows her inventory and makes wonderful suggestions and recommendations. Both years the dress we bought was one that she chose. She only buys a few of the same dresses. The dresses are unique, one of a kind and very good quality. Gina even goes above and beyond to record the purchaser's name and school they attend, not to have two girls wearing the same dress. We travel from out of state an hour for their personal customer service, even when busy with customers Gina's staff makes you feel as if you are the only customer in the store. This is the first year we needed the dress altered and the turnaround time was less than a week. Perfect fit steamed and not wrinkled. I'm sad this is the last prom but will DEFINITELY return for more formal events. If you want suburb, professional customer service, honest feedback and assistance with alterations, Foot Light Boutique is worth the visit. You definitely will not be disappointed! We all need a little pampering, and this place is just the shop to provide it. Respectfully Submitted by one MORE than...
