Played hookie and went to Bean Point. After a fun day in the water we took quick showers at Manatee. Then heard an alarming sound from my car engine. A belt was flapping around. Drove to two different stations until hitting Tire Plus. These guys not only had the belt but installed it efficiently. While waiting we tried to decide on which restaurant to go to back on AMI. The Porch popped up and I instantly knew I wanted to go. I called to make sure they had cocktails. Beer and wine yes, and wine based cocktails. Fine by me. I made a reservation for 6:30/7 due to not knowing when the car would be fixed. The hostess over the phone was very accommodating. We happily arrived early, and without a problem. Parking around the rear was easy. The walkway up to the front and with it's coral stairway was cool. Once inside we were seated at a small table for two. Our waiter got busy right away and delivered our drinks, told us the specialties, took our order and was off. My Reisling was delish. Caesar salad delivered in a cold bowl even more delicious. Husband had yellow grouper with a pineapple salsa, I had the pesto & marinara pasta with shrimp. Both were tasty. After our wonderful day playing and relaxing at the beach, then the car trouble, The Porch was a perfect finale. Well, almost. I really wanted to stay for sunset but our trip home to Clearwater was paramount. As we crossed the Sunshine Skyway Bridge there was the most amazing sight. A GIANT sun straight ahead, with a few clouds drifting across just so, making it look like Jupiter. As we crossed over to the bottom of the bridge the sun was at the horizon to our left. I snapped so many photos and captured what I will include here. *moving vehicle, so forgive the fuzziness It was the most wonderful day we have had in quite some time. Even having tears spring to our eyes as we sat talking throughout our delicious dinner. Thank You to everyone at The Porch. You made our day together a precious memory. Hope to visit again, and soon. Sincerely, Wendy...
Read moreWOW, The Porch is an absolute must if you are visiting Anna Maria Island! My husband and I were here for a 6 day vacation and despite the many wonderful options on AMI, we ended up dining here 4 of the days because it is that good!
First off, the service was so wonderful. Every person on their team was so friendly, fun, and helpful. They have a well oiled operation and amazing team!
We tried the High Tide and the Red Sangria and both drinks were delicious and so well balanced. The Sangria especially is a must try!
And the food. 🤤 The fresh bread and butter they bring out is to die for. The Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and succotash are all so delicious. Our favorite appetizers were the Bruschetta and the Shaved Lamb and Fried Naan. Both were generous portions, loaded with toppings, and had incredible flavor! Oh, and the Chef’s Board was AWESOME! Such a delicious assortment!
We shared the 20oz ribeye Oscar style a couple times and holy moly, it was AMAZING. We always ask for medium rare when we get steaks and often they are really overdone, but we got the ribeye twice and both times it was cooked perfectly.
The watermelon summer salad, chicken breast, and grilled pineapple pork chop were also amazing entrees! Again, such awesome flavor!
Also the Key Lime pie is insanely good.
Every bite we ate was perfection, 100/10 recommend The Porch! We are big foodies and this was probably the best restaurant we’ve ever been too.
The ambiance and atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and romantic. 💕
Plus, it is good FOR you! Their menu is free of additives, preservatives, antibiotics, steroids, and nitrates. All fresh, made from scratch, and you can tell. An incredible experience, guilt free.
Highly recommend The Porch in Anna...
Read moreJust had dinner at The Porch on Anna Maria Island and what a surprise dining experience. I was prepared for the usual beach vacation menu, but instead we received an amazing meal, served by the nicest people, and surrounded by a elegant but casual environment that exuded fine dining. Our son is handicapped and in a wheelchair, so the hostess arraigned for us to have a corner table at the front of the porch that was readily accessible with a great view of the restaurant and the outside area. Our server quickly provided us with a deliciously warm plate of fresh sourdough bread with butter and then took our drink orders. For an appetizer we had the shrimp and crab Cajun dip with naan bread. We could have stopped there and dined on this the rest of the night. I would come back here just to order this with a glass of wine and nothing else. There were 3 of us so we each ordered something different so we could split it and all have a little of everything. The Shrimp and Scallops were a nice surprise nestled on the cornbread. Our son decided this was his favorite. The blackened grouper was highlighted with a pineapple salsa that gave it just the right amount of kick. The Citrus and Spice Chicken was by far the tastiest with its Jamaican flare. We topped it off with the chocolate mousse cake and coffee, which was incredible. The atmosphere of this establishment is its best feature. Elegant but very relaxed. And the service was exceptional. We will be back with others…. This is the kind of place you want to show off to others not familiar with it, or sneak off to it for a romantic dinner with your spouse. I would rate The Porch as AMI’s best dinning...
