Heartless and Disappointing I’m honestly still in disbelief at how I was treated by Laura Body Work. On the day of my appointment, my mom had a sudden medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital by paramedics. It was one of the scariest, most stressful moments of my life. Despite everything, I still made the effort to call at least two hours ahead to explain what was happening and ask if I could please reschedule due to the medical emergency. Instead of any understanding or support, I received a cold email from their assistant, Susie, saying they have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy and that their system doesn’t allow for any exceptions—even for a medical emergency. I was charged the full amount, no questions asked. Even asked the assistant to have the owner Laura call me back, but she said it did not matter if I spoke with the owner, their policy is still the same, NO REFUND, NO REBOOKING! I wasn’t trying to skip out or cancel lightly. This was a real crisis, and I reached out in good faith hoping for some compassion. What I got instead was a company that hid behind policy and showed no empathy at all. It felt like I was just another number to them—my situation didn’t matter. I will never forget how this made me feel in such a vulnerable moment. Laura was a great massage therapist, but her cancelation policies are so rigid. I won’t be coming back!
