Im a local and after reading these reviews on all the local FB pages I went to google.looking at the arguments by the owner or employees that work there, I am not shocked at all that This is how anyone would be treated in that establishment just by the disrespectful posts alone. This is not at all a professional way to run a business. I was very glad to hear this is not the candy store in Park as that is the one I would highly recommend everyone go to, rather than this one on front Beach Road. I've lived here over 30 years and I've never seen an owner of an establishment respond in such a hateful and ugly way to comments. I guess the owner doesn't understand that all this is going to do os invite more comments from everyone that has ever stepped foot in there and thought it my necessary to leave a review but I bet they will now. All of this was unnecessary all they needed to do was issue , a misunderstanding or apology and perhaps that family might have better understanding of why bins shouldn't be left open or perhaps here is a novel idea, do your job and go behind them to close them. They are the merchants! I've been into this location once and I was honestly not at all impressed with the Staff Nor The facility itself so I could honestly say Iwalked out and went to pier park but if I'd of been treated poorly there this would've been a whole other conversation and the police would've been involved . These businesses need to realize that it's the tourist they keep them open and without the tourist they don't have a business. Locals are not keeping your place in business unless of course you are across from the movie theater and then yes we are. Visited in July 24 with my husband and not impressed at all myself. You can keep reporting these as fake as you have others but I was there so I don't doubt it but so far I've seen this post on 3 other pages so good luck with that. People are working too hard for their money these days to enter establishment only to be treated like garbage by the owners or employees. My employees would not have a job in my line of business if they ever treated a customer...
Read moreThis place is like being in the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! David, the employee working, was so helpful and attentive. As soon as my family and I walked in he let us know that if we had any questions or needed anything that he was there to help. Everything was so clean and very well stocked. I didn't see even one speck of dirt anywhere in the whole place. The whole store is pristine. Cleanliness seems to be a top priority there, which is amazing! The amount of candy in this store is astounding. There is something here for everyone. There's even sugar free options!
I was needing to get gifts for friends and family so David, the employee, helped me pick out some candies and desserts based off what I told him that they liked. He was very knowledgeable about what was stocked in the store, and was very patient with me as I was trying to make up my mind due to there being so many options lol.
Overall I have never been to a store like this. It was such a great experience and I will 100% be going back the next time that I am in PCB.
The staff was great, the candy is great, there are many MANY options. I cannot say enough good things about this business.
** P.S. There are some people on here writing nasty reviews all because their crotch goblins wanted to reach their hands into the boxes of candy at this establishment, and the employees kindly reminded parents that it is not allowed for them to do so. I just want to remind people that you need to control your children. There are tongs and scoops beside the boxes of candy for a reason. If your kids dig their hands into a box, that entire box's contents then needs to be discarded and thrown away due to bacteria and contamination of the product. If you see an employee following you and your children around the store, it's because (most likely) your child has already dug their snot infested fingers into one of the candy boxes, and the employee is trying to make sure that it does not happen again to keep others safe. They maintain an extremely clean...
Read moreWe went the last Week in August. 2 times. Our first time in here, we were greeted by a male employee when we entered.. walked around looking at the selection of candies. My youngest child picked up a light up bouncy ball and the shelving system fell apart. I put the shelf arm back in place and set the glass shelf back up. As me and my son started picking up the balls, the male worker came over and I explained what happened and that nothing broke.. he started placing all the balls back as well and told us it was alright. We continued to collect our assortment of candies and proceeded to check out. The employee was very nice and smiled and laughed about our competition me and my family had to see who could guess how much each of our bags weighed.. My dad spent almost $90 that night.. the candies were so good that my son wanted to go back and refill his coke flavored gummies before we went home. So that’s what we did on our last day.. We were greeted again that morning by the same male employee we had the first visit, paid for our bags of candies and started our 7 hour trip back home. From now on we will always come to Sugar Kingdom as our experience here was much more pleasant then the Candy store at pier park. Thank you for your gentle attitude towards my sons mishap the first day and for having caring employees and such fresh, delicious...
