very nice pool—clean, well-maintained, with decent food, friendly staff, and even a slide. the only real issue? the kids. my mom paid 900 dollars since we aren’t from paramus so that my stepdad, her, and i could enjoy the pool, and my friend spent 20 bucks for a guest pass. but instead of relaxing, we were relentlessly harassed for no reason by a large group of (probably) middle school boys and girls we don’t know. they followed us around the pool, ruined my friends hair, splashed us purposely trying to get our makeup off, insulted us; calling us ugly and making fun of our makeup, telling me to go on a diet, etc-and this went on the ENTIRE time we were there. it got so bad that my friend, who has a brother with autism, was in literal tears because they mocked her, calling her autistic. honestly i wanted to cry too as someone who suffered from an eating disorder in the past, being called fat really bothered me.
we reported them to the managers, and while the kids were reprimanded, i genuinely believe they should have been asked to leave. to make matters worse, when we confronted the main bully’s parents, the mother didn’t care about how her “lovely daughter” was behaving. in fact, another family member even laughed at us and high-fived the child, congratulating her for her disgusting behavior.
it wasn’t just us. i also saw another group of kids splashing at older ladies, who were visibly upset. when the ladies asked them to stop, the kids only escalated the splashing, and it was clear that the ladies had no idea who the kids were. also, another huge group of kids were causing trouble at the lunch area that the poor two girls working there had to deal with.
honestly, the pool itself is great, but the behavior of these kids? it’s unacceptable. i love kids and i work w them all the time, i didn’t even mind the splashing or getting followed at first and just ignored them bc ik how kids are (annoying), but the bullying that came after was just horrible. management really needs to enforce stricter rules with them because it’s not fair for paying guests who spend a FORTUNE to be able to enjoy the pool to have their day ruined and get body shamed and bullied to tears by a group of kids. while i’ve usually had a good time there, this particular experience left my friend and me upset.
i will probably not return for the rest of the summer to avoid encountering those kids again and my family will not be purchasing a membership for...
Read moreThis is more like 3.5 stars because the pool is genuinely very pretty and clean. I am deducting because the kiddie splash pool was significantly colder than the other pools which seems counterintuitive - if anything, the youngest ones (in the smallest pool) should have the most comfortable water instead of the coldest.
Then, a star and a half off due to this very ridiculous rule that kids under 4 are restricted only to the kiddie splash pool. Restriction for the large deep pool I kind of get, and not allowing a young one in alone, but the intermediate pool that caps at 4’? With two lifeguards on either side? With me being with my daughter in my arms? Why wouldn’t I be able to accompany my younger child into that pool? It’s certainly not a free pool, far from it at one of the highest rates for a pool in Bergen County…why keep this crazy rule in place? Let me sign a waiver and let me enjoy the intermediate pool with my family. Instead my daughter is in tears because she can’t play with big brother in the other pool. I’m just not seeing the logic and I’m positive you’re ostracizing potential customers who also feel this is unnecessarily...
Read moreGreat pool but they dont allow any out of towners unless your paying over 400 bucks. Ridiculous!! I paid 25 bucks last weekend and this weekend all of a sudden, new rules. Nice pool, but expensive for the services provided. Half the life guards are working well, while the other are playing spike ball or lounging. Did not like the fact they did not mention any promotional deal last weeken . Also just a note, i was one of the handful, and i mean handful, of colored individuals there. We were treated sith respect, but definitely not an atmosphere that is accustomed to diversity. Those who are members, enjoy. Those who are not, test it out first. Definitely will not return. I would of returned for 25 bucks for the family. We stay 2 hours and go maybe 2 times a month. Not worth the investment. Thats all. Saw a few MAGA stickers on cars there though, that was the biggest turn off. See you guys never and next town over, here we come. Only 225 for...
