Smashburger — Restaurant in Paramus

compared to other fast food burger joints the food was actually pretty good and not nearly as greasy as some other places. I had the feta, cucumber and spinach chicken sandwich and my husband had the Baja burger. I enjoyed the mix of flavors while my husband said his was not spicy enough. The sweet potato smash fries were just okay and we would likely pass if we found ourselves here again.

My issues stem from the cleanliness of the place. When we arrived their was a short line to order and one women taking orders. The line moved quickly but when we went to find a seat we found almost half of the seat still dirty from previous customers who had left before we arrived. After finding a seat we watched as the women who took our order was now also delivering orders. When she had a moment she began cleaning tables before having to run back and take orders again as people came in. All the while another women who I assume was a manager would socialize with her from time to time but never attempted to help. Party of 3 and 2 kiddies stopped by on Memorial Day evening for a quick bite after being on the road. It was empty, and there was only one person in line ahead of us. How it works: You place your order, pay, take a number, take your drink cup (and fill it), and then have a seat. Your food will be prepared and brought to your table very promptly. The burgers were all made with high-quality beef and very fresh. I have to say they are a little small. Two of the men i was with needed to split another burger to fill up. The fries were piping hot (I recommend the smash fries!), and I couldn't get enough. The chicken tenders were mostly breading, and I had to pick through it to find chicken for my kiddies, so that was disappointing. Otherwise, the restaurant is nice and clean, and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. But there was only 1 employee in the front and a cook, so you can't expect him to keep up. Place clean on walk-in half hour after opening, I was craving a burger so I had high hopes for this place. Sorry, guys disappointment. Ordered my food online in front & walked in about 6 minutes after just to look around, but when I said my name, surprise my food was bagged and already sitting in the to-go area.
