Warning for others !!
I had a hair color apt a few weeks ago with a stylist that insisted she knew what she was doing. She was an elite stylist so I assumed I could trust her, oh how I was MISTAKEN. The minute I got there, and she started doing my hair I knew something just wasn’t right. I have had my hair done quite a few times in the past and NEVER had an experience like this. She bleached my front pieces as I had booked an “accent” highlight, and let’s just say YELLOW. I was told I looked like I had a half sun on the top of my head. She toned my hair 3x and still couldn’t get it right. 2 times at the back sink, and then put a treatment on my head and sat me in a blower. I had to ask her what she put on my head.. i never asked for a treatment. She then washed my head; brought me back out to her station. She saw it was still yellow and that I didn’t like it, so she brought me back to the bowl again and tones me AGAIN. The other women in the salon knew something was wrong but no one said anything. I just wanted to leave at this point (after 2.5 hours) .. when I went to check out all these extra services were added. My bill was over $200. I could have gone to an actual salon for that price. All I had gotten was two pieces in the front colored, and she slapped some weird pieces underneath that weren’t even. When I asked for the bill I was charged for a “haircut” like $70… when I had originally told her I didn’t want a haircut. She told me that she “had” to cut off the ends where she bleached.. but I was charged ??? She also charged me for 2 treatments. After questioning about the bill, she proceeded to say that “ we’ll we didn’t charge for toner” … but online it says toner is included in the price.. The cashier also asked me if I wanted to tip right in front of the stylist .. knowing I was so unhappy. This was just not okay. I paid because I just wanted to leave and contacted customer service.
I will say.. their customer service did get back to me quickly and I was refunded all the extra services, but not the actual horrible dye job that I should have been refunded for.. They wanted to redo my hair with another stylist but I thought about it and didn’t want anymore damage done to my hair. So I went to another salon who had to completely fix it, and didn’t even understand how it got the color it did because my hair lifts great. So I paid double. And the actual salon I went to after ulta charged me less than what ulta did.
Stay far away if you’re planning on getting hair colored here!! Inserting pics! ultas stylist vs REAL hair salon when I had to...
Read moreEDIT : I ended up staying and walking around browsing- I was looking around to buy more stuff and I had already spent $50.; when a lady came upto me and started (very rudely) accusing me of opening something? And when I asked her what she was talking about she said (again VERY rudely) “just know we have cameras everywhere” I was like I’m sorry what?! Number one I WAS NOT OPENING OR TAKING ANYTHING!! and number two- even IF she had really genuinely thought I was opening something— the way that she went about it was WRONG. you need to CONFIRM THINGS FIRST before going and making accusations!!!! ESPECIALLY to a paying customer who was NOT opening anything lmao. WILD. When I told her I was not opening anything she all of the sudden changed her tune and started apologizing saying oh I’m sorry I found something you had put down and it looked open- YES BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE CLEARANCE RACK AND WAS ALREADY OPENED LMAO! Her manager ended up apologizing to me for her and said she would have a long talk with her. I really didn’t even want to get her in trouble or anything but that’s not right and someone needed to tell her that. So anyway, my great experience there has now been ruined and I absolutely will NOT be going back to that location. Sad because I was so happy and was really enjoying being there and browsing and once she randomly approached me all of her co workers hard work giving me that amazing impression of the place - was undone in a second. such a shame.
(ORIGINAL REVIEW I LEFT WHILE INSIDE OF THE STORE BEFORE THE EDIT:) I came for a concealer and ended up staying to talk with Linda and Christine for almost a half hour. They were SO HELPFUL!!! And so polite and welcoming. I didn’t feel the usual pressure to buy something like you would at any “other” makeup stores, and that alone made me actually want to buy stuff lol. Christine took the time to explain their “last chance beauty” process and showed me where all of the racks were in the store. Linda took the time to show me a new concealer that I ended up purchasing over the usual tarte shape tape I would have usually come for. I appreciate you both very much keep up the great work!! HIGHLY recommend this location because of them!! Soraya was also very sweet and explained the pricing and what they offered for hair...
Read moreVery late review as I visited back in December!
I had a horrible experience with one of the makeup artists (Olama). If I could give her zero stars, I would. She did a horrible job and was extremely rude and confrontational. I was doing my makeup for an event and I was also pressed for time. I was devastated to see how she left my face (nothing blended, horribly done compared to the picture I showed her of what I asked for, and she also improperly placed the lashes so there was chunks of glue on my eyes but the lashes were hanging off) and that I was expected to show up to my event looking like that.
I’m sooo grateful the manager did care to address my concerns especially because I had paid for the service already as well. She had me work with Kaylee who took the mess that was on my face off and started all over again to make sure it was done properly this time. She did an amazing job especially in such a short amount of time. Do yourselves a favor and only book with Kaylee. She’s a lifesaver.
Olama even came over while Kaylee was fixing her mess to be confrontational, rude, and aggressive. Questioning what happened and why I didn’t like what she had done as if she really didn’t know she did the worst job possible on my face. She makes customers so uncomfortable. If it wouldn’t have been for Kaylee my entire night would’ve been ruined and I probably would’ve had to skip out on my event.
Do not ever waste your money booking with Olama. You will 100% regret it, I also feel like they need to take responsibility and remove her from doing makeup altogether because she’s really providing the worst service possible and they have the audacity to list her as an “Elite Stylist” it’s false advertising to say the very least.
Kaylee is super nice has a great friendly personality and goes out of her way to help you. She also did my friend’s makeup and did a beautiful job as well 🙏🏻 thank you so much Kaylee, you’re the best. You deserve a promotion & a raise! Especially for cleaning up someone’s else’s mess.
