Please be aware that children are not allowed in these establishments. I wasn't aware of this, and was accosted by an employee there because of it. It wasn't the simple act of informing me that children aren't allowed that upset me...It was the aggression. You are open to the public. You are undoubtedly going to have customers that show up with their kids. It is as simple as saying "Hi, sorry it's illegal to bring children in here, but you can order online, here's a card with our website". Instead I was greeted with the aggression of an employee who is deathly afraid of receiving a ticket, or a license ban because I dared to step one foot into their building with my child. I understand that in these days, it is all too easy for a dispensary to be fined, but you simply cannot take this fear out on a customer that hasn't even crossed the security checkpoint.
So I took my kid home, and came back, and was directed to the employee that was so aggressive to me the first time, and I told that employee that they need to be more respectful to their customers... Their response to me in that moment was "you refused to leave".
Okay so refusing to leave was me asking a quick series of questions: "I cant have kids in here?" "Do you smoke weed in here?" "Is it against the law for kids to be here?" "Can I place an order online?" "What's the website?"
That entire interaction probably lasted less than 1 minute (i invite the owners/managers to check their cameras for March 5, 2025 at 10am and time how long it took me to leave), and yet when I return Im told that I refused to leave?
Again, I understand that the state, county, the city are all watching dispensaries very closely, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that an overly zealous authority figure would fine a dispensary because a customer was standing in their entryway. I totally get it, you could tell that authority figure "hey we were telling them to leave!", and you may still get in trouble, however, when you take that anxiety and you turn it on your customers, you leave a bad impression.
I struggle to understand how I could have been a better patron in those few seconds. I could have stepped out of the door, and asked questions from the sidewalk, or I could have left with out asking any further questions at all... but let's be honest about our intentions for a second. Cannabis is easier to find than ever; I CHOOSE to purchase from a store, because as a person of color, I feel it is my obligation to help normalize the recreational consumption of it, because statistics show that POC are arrested for minor possession at rates far higher, and by legalizing cannabis we are removing an avenue for POC to enter the incarceration system. Weed consumption should be just as normal as alcohol consumption, and my patronage as well the the patronage of so many others, is helping to make it so.
I felt just as much harassment from that employee in those few seconds as I've ever felt from any police officer, and what was my crime? Walking to the security desk with my child, and taking about 1 minute to leave.... It exposes your priorities as a company. You are perfectly fine with selling drugs to a community, but you will antagonize a patron because they are momentarily ignorant of a civil law regarding minors on...
Read moreFirst visit to Greenlight Marijuana Dispensary left a lot to be desired.
First off location - Nicest building in the area, aside from maybe the Police Station which is right behind it.
Staff - upon entry there is a person stationed at a table in the corner, present med card & I get a giggle and a “oh no no you dont do that here” as if it is common knowledge. Enter and am literally confronted right upon entry, “You have a preorder?” In a military tone. “Uh no, this is my first time here.” “You have to use the kiosk!” (Points to kiosk) However the Bud tender was polite and helpful. Overall it was not a welcoming experience, it felt as though having a customer was a burden.
Products - All major brands with a few exclusives, not a bad selection. Really this is the most appealing aspect of the experience.
Price - Recreational only. Greenlight offers a 25% discount for Medical Patients, but that does not fully cover the taxes on carts or concentrates. Making it a pricier place for those who rely on concentrates or carts.
Overall Impression - very corporate feel. The staff seemed militarized and inconsiderate (aside from the bud tender) and the prices for Medical card holders leaves your wallet light. There are better discounts for card holders relatively close.
All these things aside it does appear that Greenlight Marijuana Dispensary is evolving.
Perhaps this particular visit experience ( based off other posted reviews ) is not the typical experience.
Cannabis Judges will have to gather more evidence before a verdict...
Read moreFirst time going & when I walked in to my surprised to see a long-time friend, he happened to be working there. Remy kindly was showing me around and showing me how the setup was (since you have to order everything on the kiosk and again my first time there) giving me small talk as well half way through the conversation his coworker (lady behind the counter dispensing the products) cut him off yelled out to him “CLOCK OUT, BEFORE YOU CLOCK OUT TAKE OUT THE TRASH WE ARE ALL TRYING TO LEAVE EARLY TOO” which he replied he was still helping me out! This was so disrespectful and extremely rude- I went in at 5pm and their store hours online are till 8pm which was confusing!? I was the only customer in the store all other workers were just sanding around as well just looking as Remy was the ONLY ONE helping me, he proceeded to instruct me with check out steps after that interaction it made my experience weird I was there for 15 min max! Never had an experience where they rush me like that, it was horrible! Would give 5 stars to Remy for being very helpful, knowledgeable and handling that...
