This is not a huge place, but, it's in the now defunct Brown's chicken building on belvedere road.
Let me say this, Jeff, the Boss man and owner, is the real deal. And the only reason I found out about this place, my wife stopped and bought some barbecue to bring home. And wow! I mean wow. The corn pudding, wow, the shrimp, wow the brisket, wow the rib tips, wow the collards, wow the biscuits, wow and anything else they've got there, wow! It's very rare nowadays that you find a place that does everything really good. Dino's is kind of like that up at Captain Porky's, but Jeff's test kitchen definitely has his barbecued meats beat. And that's saying a lot! I met people from all over this region coming to see Jeff and check out his barbecue. Quite a few first timers, so that tells you the word is spreading. Jeff learned his trade choice in Alabama, any picked it up as good as it is in about 5 years. That's impressive. So the only thing I can say, is you got to stop in, order some of everything, and understand that it's much less expensive than the other places around in this area. You might not want to do it every week, or several times a week, but whenever, it's a treat! And, it's fam. And everybody talks to everybody else, so it's not just a place to get food, it's a place where you come together with your brothers and sisters of all stripes! The sides are delish, out of the 3 sides i tried; southern style black-eyed peas, Mac n cheese, and Mash Potatoes it was Mash potatoes; totally homemade. great flavor on the gravy mash potatoes had great consistency Black-eyed peas; great flavor they had greens and more mixed in, wife said, it was heavy on the bite on the black pepper, but i had no issue. Mac n cheese; the most commercialized flavor side ive tried so far, above KFC but a little below Popeyes, Kids will still love it though. Now onto the Tips! These are true smoked rib tips, Excellent flavor profile, not blasted with seasoning. you can tell that the person responsible for smoking takes pride in their work. The flavor is infused with the smoke. ( I cant wait to try the brisket) they serve sauce on the side so you control how sticky your ribs get. and you don't really need the sauces They have many sauces to choose from. with the meal I bought you receive 2 different sauces 2 containers each. I chose Mild and Bourbon. Bourbon had excellent smokey flavor and a small non-overpowering kick to it. the Mild was very sweet like a Hawaiian based BBQ sauce with pineapple in it. The lady kinda always ways give me a negative vibe. Honestly, but anyways The food is season by a Food God! Gizzards 9 out of 10 Liver 10 out of 10!!! By far my favorite thing to have. My wife had the Cat fish half lemon pepper half Cajun. She said it was by far the best fish she's had and the last 10 years. It was golden brown and season was perfect. Don't let me get start with the BBQ. Two words Bacon Ends. You will slap your mom for these after having some. Brother you Snaaaaapppped!!! Ribs 10 out of 10 sauce 10 out of 10.
