Checkers — Restaurant in Waukegan

Had a coupon for 2 big buford meals for $7.99 was charged $10.82. Told cashier why so much that's like 3 dollars tax. Refusing to scan my coupon told me he entered it and its 10.82. Told him wanted reciept, was given a blank receipt with items listed but no costs and a total of $18. Called a few locations and asked "if i have a coupon for big buford meal for 2 for $7.99 what is total which is $8.97. Went back in talked with manager which ssid coupon is $8.99,i said no its $7.99 was told mine is old. Went to car got phone and showed her $7.99 and expired in two days. Her words " not dealing with this" gave me the money back.I simply said if someone offers you to scan their coupon maybe you should and was told "goodbye sir". Customer service at this location non existent especially manager...

I read the reviews of thos place before going in. From a customer perspective they have got their act together. I am unsure how it is for the employees as a young man came in to quit while i was placing my order. As for the sevice and quality of food better than expected. The mopping the floor as i came I was polite and asked me mind my step so i wouldn't fall. Being my first time at a checkers the gentleman behind the counter gave me his three recommendations. I made a comment about an event going on in a near by town and this lead to a pleasant conversation with two employees while we waitwd for my food. It was close to open so all the food was made fresh and very hot. This place was recommended to me by a family member and I would pass that recommendation...

If I could give a 0 I would, food quality was not as one would expect at a fast food establishment. The food seemed old and reheated, spicy chicken patty seemed like it was an old patty that was refried it was so hard, I thought that I was eating a porkrind.The fries and chicken bites tasted like they were dipped in grease to reheat as well. Also my champburger patty was cold and the sandwich was assembled sloppily. I recently moved in the area and was excited that I had a checkers near me and felt the quality would be better. Its disappointing that I can go to the ghetto in Milwaukee and get superior quality of food from the same franchise. The people that work at this restaurant either don't appreciate their job or they need...
