In 1997 at age 22, I entered a Porsche dealer in Cary, NC with a brand new Audi wing. I was just grabbing car brochures while my Honda was repaired. The dealer asked if I was interested in a car , I said no. He asked if I wanted a test drive of their new A4. I said I didn't want to waste his time. He said "look around, its empty, I've got plenty of time". After the drive, I was sold. I bought the 1997 A4, then a 2002 A4... 2007 A4... 2011 A4... 2015 A3, 2022 A3 and 2023 Q3.
The 2022 A3 was totaled and my wife was devastated. Paul Miller had an exact matching S3. They were 4 hours away. I could pick it up by end of week (would have been Aug 31 or Sept 1). I called the salesman, with credit card in hand to place a 2k non-refundable deposit, committing to the S3. The salesman went to his manager who declined, saying he'd rather sell it to someone else to make his August number than to risk me being late and going a day or two into September. In the ensuing time, we decided on a Tesla.
In 1997 a random experience with a persistent and helpful salesperson kicked off an Audi passion that led to 7 straight Audis. 26 years later, in 2023, with my credit card in hand, trying to give my money to Paul Miller Audi for the 8th. A dealership who couldn't have cared less about me as a customer, broke that chain (just as randomly as it all began). They opened the door open for my wife to chose a competitive car. Really disappointing.
Interesting note: I ended up reposting this review so it was on my personal account and not my work account. Both times, it was immediately followed up by a generic 5 star review with an instantaneous owner comment (even on a Sunday). Take from that what you will.
Follow-up note: Well into week 2 of my review, every bland 5* review since (most with no comments at all) are instantaneously met with a rah-rah comment from the owner. But still, my very descriptive experience of their dealership goes completely unnoticed. "Ownership" seems to be sitting around waiting to add a comment to each 5* review within minutes, even on Sundays.... But the review that cost the Audi brand a 26 year customer while trying to buy his 8th Audi in a row? Crickets.
Go figure...
Response to the GM note I finally received two weeks later: "Misunderstanding" is a salesman's way of implying the customer is probably still at fault. There was absolutely no "misunderstanding". The salesman knew I was specifically interested in that car and that it was one-of-a-kind to me. I called on August 26th to put down a 2k non-refundable deposit saying I would be there before end of week (I had to wait for the bank transfer from my totaled A3 and plan pickup with a wife still suffering from the accident. The salesman told me they wouldn't take it because it was a hot car and they needed the August sale. In my position, I could not wait a week for a car which Paul Miller's Salesman's stated position was that they were more likely to sell before I could get there. There was absolutely no "misunderstanding". The dealership simply took my desperation for granted and assumed I would be there if they didn't sell it.
I appreciate that someone finally responded after two weeks of seeing an instantaneous response to dozens of non specific 5* reviews. If anything good comes from this bad situation, maybe you can have your Management staff use the Red S3 that shows it's still sitting in your inventory on 9/13 as a reminder to TAKE THE DEAL. Don't shop it around hoping you can pad a different month. It's offensive to me as a customer and its offensive to me as a sales professional who appreciates...
Read moreGreat experience working with Seamus from Paul Miller Audi in Parsippany.
I was having trouble finding a district green Q5 for months when I came across a TikTok of this dealership with the color I wanted. I DM’d them and they reached back out quickly saying they would have Seamus work with me since it was his video that got me in the door. I had previously went to closer Audi stores but they were rude or didn’t want to be bothered because they’d have to order the car for me. Instead, they kept trying to push other cars on me or would ghost my calls/txts. This dealership was over an hour away from me but I chose to go with them because of how I was treated.
From the beginning, Seamus was very communicative and receptive to the things I was requesting. I hadn’t bought a car in 12years and had heard horror stories with the game playing.I told him off the bat I wanted everything handled over the phone and to just walk in day of, sign, and leave. He did exactly that. We had to order the color/model car which took 4 months from start to finish but was worth the wait. The whole time Seamus kept me in the loop, answered all of my millions of questions, dealt with my crazy, kept me updated, and answered me back quickly. Transparency was super important to me and everyone I dealt with was very transparent. They explained everything to me every step of the way, had all the paperwork ready and most signed before I even got to the dealership. when I got there all I had to do was sign with finance and I was out the door.
When I got to the dealership I was greeted right away. The showroom is big and bright. They have a nice coffee area and Seamus even offered us coffee and water. Working with Seamus was easy and working with finance was too. I was told about everything but nothing was pushed on me. If I said no to something, it was a no. No questions asked which I appreciated. I was in an out in under an hour. After, Seamus took the time to set up my car for me and show me as much as he could before he let me drive off the lot. I have since asked him questions and he continues to answer me promptly even though our sale is complete.
I never felt like I was just a sale or that I was being taken advantage of which was important to me. Seamus made my buying experience seamless and stress free…Not to mention I love my new...
Read moreUpdate May 2022: I added the star back that I took off back in 2018. I bought a 2022 Audi S4 from Paul Miller and worked with Chris in the sales department. Working with him was awesome. He was personable and friendly, never once did it feel like I was being sold to. He answered my questions and gave me all the time I needed to make a decision. I never once felt pressured. He also worked closely with me while my order was in process with the factory and finally arriving in the US. I really felt like he cared about me and that I was his only customer, such a great sales experience.
Update Jan 2018: I took off a star because this last time I was getting recall work done, they did not properly test the heating system and I left with issues. Their follow through to resolve the issue has been less than stellar and it has been very difficult to have a single point of contact who will take ownership and get it resolved.
I did not buy my car here but after many problems with my original dealership, I now take the 45 minute drive out to Paul Miller Audi for all my service. This is the third time I've had them service my car. They are 100% professional, friendly, and get the job done. They focus on the little things and really make the customer experience positive. Someone is there to greet you, they do a once over on your car, they plastic off the front seat (something my previous dealer did not), and provide excellent amenities for waiting. Also, they deliver on time for waiting customers. 35K service I was told 3 hours and they had me out in 2 and a half. Other smaller services they've had me out in under an hour. The service is also performed impeccably every time. I couldn't imagine taking my car to any other...
