Sometimes it’s okay to say you misspoke and then correct yourself. I just had a very confusing and rude phone call with a staff member that ended in them hanging up on me.
I called to ask about their black lace inventory. When I gave her my specs (6in in width) she assumed I wanted a 6 inch cut. I told her that I was planning to buy at least a yard. She clarified that they only had small lace trim. Understood. When I asked if other Michael’s stores might have more variety, she said that likely all other stores will only have lace “2 inches in diameter”. Confused, I tried to clarify that I was not looking for lace rounds but a trim (1yard in length at least and about 6inches in width). She said “diameter doesn't just refer to measuring a circle.”
I tried not to be condescending but since when did math change? I literally questioned everything I knew and asked her, then what else can diameter refer to? She doubled down and in the middle of me explaining basic math to her, she hung up on me.
I then called another Michael’s to ask about their inventory of lace trim and the lady from a South Gate store said they had all measurements and variations.
I called Pasadena again to speak to a manager but kept getting hung up on. RUDE!...
Read moreI am a loyal customer for the past 10 years to this location because it’s closest to me. I went in to pick up my order (2 small items). First I had to wait in an extremely long line just to get to the rude cashier who told me my order wasn’t ready. I had to pull up my email proof that it was ready. Then she couldn’t find my order so she called the manager. Manager came and just starred at me. Finally I said “do you need my order number or last name?” And she said “last 4 of order number”. I asked her if it was the barcode number and she just said “no” in a rude tone. At this point I’m wondering if 2 items is even worth it. She finally found my order after 30 minutes in the store. The solution is clear: hire MORE help. The vibes are so weird! Because of this I don’t think I will be shopping at this location anymore. Id rather go to Joanne’s in Alhambra. The prices are better and the store is properly staffed. To be clear, I don’t blame the cashier as she was the only cashier at the time. She looked like she had been working the entire store without a break. I’ve worked retail for many years so I know these kinds of attitudes are from...
Read moreMichaels is advertising that it has the stock that customers of the sewing store Joanne’s need. This is not true! The stock at Michaels is truly pathetic. They have a tiny stock of buttons. All the buttons are super cheap. They are selling bags of buttons that are for example white, but the package gives no clue as to its contents-what size are the buttons? How many matching buttons are in the bag? One would buy the bag of buttons without having a clue as to whether one was going to obtain the six buttons of a particular size that are needed for one’s project!! They was one brand of thread for hand sewing, for example to fix the torn hem of a skirt . The thread is made by a discount no name brand that nobody has ever heard of. I could go on but you get the idea. Good luck to Joanne’s customers trying to find needed supplies for even the most basic sewing tasks at Michaels! You are...
