Present Perfect Nursery — Attraction in Pasadena

Beyond impressed with the customer service I received from Present Perfect.

I just moved into a new house and have a bunch of plants/flowers in the backyard that I was worried could be toxic to my cats. I called a few nurseries and even some veterinarians and did not get helpful answers.

I then called Present Perfect and connected with Al. He told me to take some pictures of the plants and bring some samples if possible.

I arrived at the nursery shortly thereafter and was greeted immediately by Al. He then proceeded to go through 35 pictures that I took. He identified every plant by name and determined if they were pet friendly. On the ones he was unsure of, he checked a reference book.

It was incredible customer service! On top of that, the grounds were immaculately maintained with a massive variety of plants, trees, etc.

When buying trees, one cannot afford to get any detail wrong. I do my homework, but there are still things I can miss. I need expert advice and reliable service. I also want the best plants at reasonable prices. For these reasons Present Perfect is always at the top of my list and has been for years. I invested in three 5-gallon fruitless olive trees and two "Autumn Gold" ginkgos three years ago as foundation plants for by back yard renovation. The plants looked beautiful when I got them, did not miss a beat going in, and have performed as well as or better than promised since. The olives are 10' already and make a lush Mediterranean backdrop. The ginkgos grow slower initially, but they have the compact habit I wanted and have kept pace with each other. This place is such an amazing hidden gem for all plant/gardening lovers! I didn’t know about them until I coincidentally came across it on Google Maps, but when I made it there, it didn’t feel so hidden. It’s one of the biggest nurseries I’ve been to, and they have all kinds of vegetation you can think of—succulents, trees, flowers, veg and fruit seedlings, cover crops, indoor plants, etc. I’m so impressed by the variety of veg and fruit crops they had especially ethnic fruits and veg like habanero and cayenne peppers, Armenian cucumbers, shishito peppers, pink guavas, etc.

The staff were very laid-back but readily available and super kind. Down-to-earth, friendly people. They said they’ve been around for over 30 years!
