My mother recently spent two months at The Californian and the experience was very positive. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and made the transition as smooth as possible.
During the stay, the nurses and caregivers provided excellent care, ensuring that medications were administered on time and that daily needs were met. They also had amazing physical therapists, who were crucial to my mom’s recovery from her femur surgery. They were patient and kind, always taking the time to engage with my rather than just going through the motions. It was reassuring to see that they genuinely cared.
The facility itself is clean and well-kept, with a comfortable and home-like environment. The room was always tidy, and housekeeping did a great job maintaining cleanliness throughout. Meals were well-balanced, and dietary restrictions Respected.
I would highly recommend it to families looking for quality care. My mom was initially discharged to a subpar facility in Rosemead, and we got her out of there in a week. The difference was night and day, and I’m so glad we...
Read moreWorst place that I have ever seen . My mother was sent there after being at Huntington hospital for 3 days. She ended up staying at the Californian for a month. They waited after 20 days and then charged me $2,600 something dollars. I never got a call. I never talked to a doctor. I still to this day don't know what was wrong with my mom and why she was placed there. They are very shady so think twice about having your loved one stay there. My mom has dementia. Every time i went to see her food was still on the tray. Ice cold.. she was always in the bed. And when they finally picked her up to take her to go back to her nursing home, she smelt my urine she had lost weight and still to this day I haven't heard from anyone. It was a very upsetting experience. And she was off her meds so she 's trying to get back on track at her nursing home and get back to...
Read moreBeware! Do your research before your loved one is placed at this facility! My mom had back surgery and was placed at this facility for rehabilitation to make sure she could get around before returning back home. It didn't take long to figure out the facility was only equipped to do minimal to nothing. They treated my mom like she had Alzheimer's which she does not. They slapped a diaper on her and figured they wouldn't have to deal with her till the next day. After hearing someone else that required help and no one attending to them she called us to come pick her up at 3am. The on call nurse (very loose term) basically told us that she was having an Alzheimer's moment, which we obviously knew was not the case. We rushed to the facility immediately to get her out of that facility. So please do your research before putting your loved one into...
