Don’t Bother! Used to come often hadn’t come in 8 months the prices are out of control. Whoever prices items is completely clueless and needs to wake up. First time I saw people buying 2-3 items max and no line in cashier probably because of the prices. In the past I had a full cart and would spend $400-500 now I just left. No lines in cashier as usually. When I mentioned this to the jewelry counter lady she said Oh on ebay they are even more. Actually wrong! What someone may list doesn’t mean it also sells also ebay u shop from the comfort of your home without digging through crap to find smt. They need a good manager and to do a swift course correction. Just for fun I snapped some images of some items funily the items are listed not even sold for LESS online. Thust me you will get better deals online you can negotiate with sellers and get stuff much cheaper you don’t need to go through all that to get a $9 used gap jeans. Also the Jewelry section just skip I was shocked with the prices they are now X10 and I don’t mean gold or smt spectacular I saw a plastic bangle inside the case for $20. If you are considering to donate DON’T! The people you hope to give access to items in affordable prices cant afford the ridiculous prices in this place They run sales but resellers run and grab if anything is worth it at 50off but that’s nit how to run a thrift store aso they seem to be confused on their store it’s a thrift store in Passaic not a high end consignment of eclectic stuff . Find a better location. Be very careful with the luxury items bags etc behind the counter they aren’t authenticated has seen knock offs sold there for couple of thousands. Some items Coach wristlet they are asking for used $39.99 ebay sold NWT for $35 Ottod’ame dress they wanted $49 listed in vestiaire for $41 Sinequoanone blouse asking $59.99 listed online for $38 Target colab dress Kika Vargas asking 24.99 sold online NWT for $20 poshmark and $25 also NWT HomeGoods small chipped figurine aqua elephant they were asking $19.99 Marc New York women’s puffer jacket with wear and tear they were asking $69.99 NWT on ebay similar listed for $70 and $59 Fortnite backpack asking $19.99 on ebay $14 and 12 White plain coringwear dish $19.99 Chanel brooch (questionable authenticity since they have a lot of knockoffs priced as real) Priced at $799 ebay ranges authenticity guaranteed 300 with max 600 for this size and commonality Timberland w wear boots asking 89.99 listed...
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews but I'm pretty torn about this place. My family and I found some really nice things and it was generally affordable in my opinion. HOWEVER, our experience with the staff and the way we were treated was pretty horrible. I'm not a Karen, so typically I understand that employees are under stress and I don't take it personally but this was different.
When we came in, they had big carts available downstairs and an elevator to the other floors which many people were using. By the time we were done shopping, we had a full cart. When we went back to the elevator, it was shut down and said out of service. It said there was a secondary elevator in the back if needed for strollers and carts. Of course things like this happen- no problem. We seek out an employee and the first one we found told me she didn't speak English (which was a lie, because I heard her speaking English later on). We weren't being rude at all, either. The second one we found said both elevators were broken and out of service and that she couldn't help me. Meanwhile, two minutes later we see the employees using the elevator for moving product around while people with strollers and carts are standing there waiting in dismay. They continued shutting it off to the customers. I don't understand how you can offer an elevator and carts to customers only to not allow them to use it to get back downstairs.
Next, we got yelled at by an employee for then trying to deal with our situation by putting some items back so we can carry everything downstairs (because we put some things down where they didn't belong). I understand that can be frustrating for employees, but they had no return rack and the store is huge. Putting things back exactly where they belonged would be very difficult on our own.
One of the employees then told us to take our things to the dressing room, which we didn't even know existed. Learning that one existed, my sister decided she'd try a few things on to help make her decision and for that giant store there is only 3 stalls in the dressing room so the wait was long.
When we got all of our items downstairs (using the stairs) the line wrapped around the entire store. I know that can't really be helped, it's a popular place, but it was just the cherry on top of a shopping trip that ended up taking 3 hours instead of 1 because of all the times we were greatly inconvenienced. The only nice employee I encountered...
Read moreRidiculous how high these prices have become. Thrift stores used be a place where people who couldn't afford New clothes, shoes, any of type of items at a retail price could buy them here because they're all donated things they they get for free. But now you're pricing things $40, $50, $75 and more as if these items were new and in perfect condition. These items were donated to you, you didn't have any kind of initial payment on them to where you need to price so high. This is insane greed from this owner(s) who owns this facility. Digging through the stuff and putting anything relatively good behind the counter, pricing it so high. Something you got for free, something that should be a donation to the community, a way to help those who aren't very fortunate. But instead you go online , search every single item you see, think that " Oh it sells for $60 on Amazon or Ebay, we should put it for $75". Youre trying make a quick little profit from a free item, exploiting the unfortunate circumstances of many of the customers you have.
Sorry this is not a retail store, this is not an online store, these are not new items. Stop price gouging and leave it as it is, deal with it as a thrift store. If you want to sell retail then do that, if you want to sell online then do that. But don't go and price an item for $75 just because it might have a nice brand on it, and it has stains and holes. Complete greed, don't bite the hand that feeds you. If i wanted something new, then I'll buy it new if i can afford it. But sometimes we can't, and we decide to go thrift stores, then we see places like this where prices are higher than if an item was new. And even if it was priced properly, somehow the cashier has the power to deny you payment because "they don't believe they priced it well". Greedy people, very...
