I want to share my experience with LaserAway to help others avoid the same issue. I was on the phone with a representative discussing payment options and was told that I needed to fill out an application to find out what my payments would be. I specifically asked if it would be a soft or hard credit check, as I was planning to buy a car the next day and couldn’t afford a hit to my credit score. The representative assured me multiple times that it would only be a soft credit check.
After submitting the application, I immediately received notifications from both TransUnion and Credit Karma that a hard inquiry had been made, and my credit score dropped by 17 points. After several calls back and forth between LaserAway and the third-party credit company (which I later learned was Syncb/Care Credit), the credit company confirmed they had indeed run a hard inquiry. However, when I informed LaserAway, they denied that a hard credit check had occurred, claiming that Credit Karma was wrong and implying that I didn’t know what I was talking about.
To be sure, I called TransUnion directly, and they confirmed that a hard inquiry had been made by Syncb/Care Credit. This situation could have been avoided entirely if LaserAway had disclosed upfront that their payment plans are handled through a third-party bank and that a hard inquiry could be involved. Had I known that, I would have paid the full amount upfront to avoid damaging my credit.
This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially when major financial decisions are involved. Companies need to be upfront about how their payment plans work and the potential impact on customers’...
Read moreI’ve had over 10 tattoo removal sessions at LaserAway and I’ve never had a problem until my recent visit with Natalie H., RN. Her treatment was so aggressive that I left with blisters, rashes, and burn marks…literally a first in all my sessions. The aftermath has been painful and now I’m afraid to even go out because I don’t want the blisters to break and cause permanent scarring.
Natalie was also passive aggressive and unprofessional. While setting up she kept stopping mid sentence and giving me looks as if I shouldn’t be on my phone even though I was just waiting quietly. I’ve never been treated that way by any other nurse at LaserAway.
During the session the pain was so severe she had to lower the settings partway through. Afterward she casually told me not to do anything if blisters appeared offering no real aftercare advice. I explained I’d never had blisters before in my 12 sessions and she brushed it off by saying it could be “normal.” But after doing my own research I found that overly aggressive laser settings can cause burns and other serious reactions.
According to TattooHealth.org, all lasers capable of tattoo removal can cause burns if used improperly, and it’s essential that practitioners adjust settings based on the individual’s skin and tattoo characteristics (source).
I drove an hour to this location because my regular one had a broken machine and I deeply regret it. I’ve always trusted LaserAway but this experience with Natalie H., RN has left me injured, frustrated, and stuck at home healing. I would never...
