i spent over $3,000 for custom doors and wasted over 2 weeks for them to come . The doors was shipped to the store for curbside pick up. When we arrive to pick up the doors they were still in the original shipping packaging, on the pallet wrapped tight in plastic, wood, and straps. UNOPENED! Home Depot loaded the pallets right onto my moving truck. 20min later we get to unload the doors and unwrap them there’s a big sign on the packaging for Home Depot Shipping & Receiving team which reads “receiving, inspect package upon delivery for damages” no one inspected my package. My doors were broken. This was clear damage right on the top. Had the package been opened the damage would’ve been seen as it was RIGHT ON THE TOP! Door frames broken split in half. I called the store immediately. The Rep from shipping and receiving had the audacity to tell me to install them as is. You want me to install broken doors that i didn’t pay for? I paid full price for new doors in perfect condition. No one gave me a discount for buying broken doors. Poor business Ethics. The second option was to bring the doors back. So you want me to hire another moving company spend more time and money to bring doors back that shouldn’t have been given to me in the first place. Who’s going to reimburse me for the moving fees and time?
This is the most ghetto Home Depot in the Houston area. The day before i picked up my order i called to confirm it was ready as the tracking said so online. the lady rep from customer service told me my order had been cancelled weeks ago. When on the tracking the order said it was delivered at the store ready for pick up. And i had a purchase confirmation email as well. Order was never cancelled so I’m unsure where she even got that information from. This lady rep that was working feb 16th wasn’t knowledgeable on anything related to Home Depot. i waited sooo long as she kept putting me on hold calling here and there calling customer service 1800# trying to find a manager etc. it was truly ridiculous i hung up i was waiting on hold so long, & she ended up calling my personal phone number back asking to speak to me!! When i go into the store to actually pick up the doors and order a few things to go with my purchase this same lady representative couldn’t find my account. spent over an hour trying to make a purchase. When initially i should’ve called customer service on the phone myself as they seem to know more about Home Depot than the actual workers they have in this store. I left Home Depot unable to make a purchase because this representative didn’t know how to do her job properly. Highly disappointed, the previous rep was able to pull up my account and place me an order on the same computer the lady was working on. But this current rep kept blaming the issue on the system etc etc. when customers beside me were walking up making orders with their accounts without an issue. Have some integrity. If you don’t know what you’re doing say so, let someone else help me.
Don’t waste your time at Home Depot. The quality of this business has gone downhill. Their ethics is subpar, and completely disappointing. When I originally purchased my discounted washer and dryer on January 7, 2021, I was told that if I needed to change the delivery date and address I could do so with no issues. I’m currently waiting on details for the exact closing date on my home, so this detail was important to me.
When I called Home Depot today, Hannah from appliances was fine with assisting me on making sure I could get the situation handled while also making sure I get it for the same price. She stated over and over that it should be fine and even talked to the manager, Brandon, who agreed.
Once they realized the there was a price difference between when I bought the appliances vs. the current price (the appliances are no longer on sale), Brandon made the process more difficult than it needed to be. He kept telling me I would need to return and repurchase to change the delivery date, but that I couldn’t repurchase at the same discounted price.
I have purchased from many retailers and even worked on retail. This is not proper customer service. Whenever you are doing an exchange, the price should always come out even. After explaining this to him, he kept telling me that I didn't understand what he was saying and that my retail experience didn’t matter in a condescending tone.
Brandon also informed me that once I move I can just use my warranty if the machines don’t work properly due to me not being able to test them out on the original delivery. However, the last time I checked, a deductible would need to be paid if someone comes out after delivery because I couldn't test out the machines properly. This was extremely inappropriate and uncalled for. He kept suggesting he would take $100 off each and that was meeting me halfway, but that is literally a slap in the face.

Nobody knows how to do anything in the customer service/return department. 1st day I went which was 3days ago, I was trying to purchase a toilet, get installment and delivered and was going thru the process with 1 person then another lady came to help. Going back and forth with a system issue and a direct order from her supervisor that they dont schedule the installment anymore. She call supervisor on staff tht day and he informed her on where to go. By that time before the supervisor got called she had already ran my card for the deliver n the price of the toilet. I must have stood there for close to an hour with trying to pull it up or getting someone to help. So I ended up getting an refund my dad whom was there was tired and had to go. So I tried again on Friday 4/2, got thr and the lady didnt know how but ended up sending me to the appliances department where there's an black man with dreads as she described. Went back thr and he was gonna be a minute so I ask if he could call an manager. He did but the manager Mike was with a customer so another work was going around to see if he can get someone to help me. Well he did in the door department and he was trying to log in so the computer had froze then he was calling to see if someone could help him. At this point I asked about management and they said Mike is the only manager in duty and that they was short staff per the worker had said. I guess Home depot didnt want my service. I waited and waited. I feel that they shouldnt put workers in these departments without having a lead person to back them up. As a customer I shouldnt have to walk all around the store asking for help. The service was horrible, no one had made the time to assist. I am definitely looking to call corporate on this issue.
