Worst service and generally low productivity! This corporate branch needs a refreshment shake.
In short, only 1 printer available and no help offer except for high voices and bad attitude from both O.D. staffs. Even worse, the young female staff in Printing talked in Spanish to complain about me to another guest. She thought I couldn't understand Spanish. Is it in South Florida that non-Spanish (Asian look btw) is discriminated against by Spanish speaking people? Total time was less than 15min but unforgettably unpleasing.
Came in about 5-6pm, early March for printing. Happens rarely in my life to go out and print. It was for a professional exam paper so I had several files of past exams. Only 1 PC and printer available for printing service when I was doing my printing even though they have 2 computers installed and several printers! Female staff left me at the PC without any instructions. I had to do by myself. I even had to ask her from afar if a chosen printer had double sided function. She didn't come to help. There was other guest waiting. I felt butterflies in the stomach that others were waiting but needed to spend time figuring out myself since the girl was busy with something else and I had several files to print. After a while printing my papers, a male staff wearing glasses at Printing place came to use a strong voice to me that I can't do printing by myself and have to ask them to do printing. He didn't come to offer help obviously. Well I wish what he said was the case then I didn't have to do a thing and hear his voice! Then the female staff came in and raised voice about the PC issues. She blamed that I closed the files. She couldn't figure out that she could just open My Document to do the printing for me. So I told her that. I didn't feel comfortable for others to wait but what can I do if I have to print papers for my exam and only 1 printer. I observed later that the girl chose another bigger printer that printed faster. So they have several printers and 2 PCs but left customer with no guidance and only 1 PC! I decided to stop printing and go to another place. There was no 'thank you' after payment! I started to compare these young 20s staffs with others at Starbucks. Is it difference in individuals or corporate culture?
I came here to pay for the service not to get the attitude. I had used the printing service here before during noon and early afternoon time (2 PCs were available). Longer queue, slow still but never had had this kind of attitude. I have 10+yrs of work experience and believe customer service is strongly positively correlated to company performance. This proved it. Tonight, I'll think of this story as an excuse of a Monday...

I bought some electronics back in May at the Sheridan store which is closed now, yesterday I tried to return the items and I had to go this store, because it's the one closer to me to return the items. I didn't have the receipt with me they looked the order up on their system and found it. The system was saying office depot was going to mail back a check as a refund and I said there was no problem.. the sales manager was called for a final approval and he said I needed a receipt.. I asked why and he said he couldn't process the refund without the receipt. He provided me with a phone number which he said would help me.I went home and called that number. I waited for over 30 min and no answer. I decided to do it online. I spend over 20 min online until finally I got the receipt. It was sent.by email. Today I went back to the store to do the return with my receipt and they called the sales manager again. The sales manager told me that he couldn't find the order on their system..I asked to speak to the store manager. The sales manager cameback with a lady named Stacy and she said the sales manager was her manager and that the store manager had said that since I did not buy the items in their store, they couldn't give me a refund. That the purchase was over 15 days and they couldn't help me........WHAT A CRAPY SERVICE. The items I was trying to return were never opened. They were in the original packaging. I have a business and I have been an office depot customer for years. Today I felt customer's are not worthy of office depot manager's time. The manager is so important that HE/SHE sends other messengers.....I was denied to speak to the manager. What kind of customer service is this??? I will be contacting the corporate office to see if I have better luck. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO BUY FROM THIS STORE. CUSTOMERS ARE FIRST UNTIL YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, AFTERWARDS CUSTOMERS ARE NOT WORTHY OF THEIR TIME AND GOOD LUCK BECAUSE IF YOU BUY SOMETHING FROM THEM AND THEIR STORE CLOSES YOU WILL HAVE NO PLACE TO HAVE ANYTHING...
Read moreUnbeknownst to me that they closed at 7pm on a Saturday. I had conflicting information when trying to print out some items as they were closing. I get it they want to close on time. They could have made an announcement that they were closing at such and such time and I would have left the store without printing or buying anything. The red headed girl at the counter said it was no problem and even helped me to get it done faster, which we appreciated it. She did not have to accomodate such action and told me to come back tomorrow. A definite asset to the company.The african american man made me feel like I shouldnt be there at that hour and I needed leave now. Definitely not an asset to the company. I felt like I targeted because I am a caucasian since others were not spoken to in front of me. I was waiting on the printer to finish printing my items and I needed an invoice book as well. I grabbed and invoice book while my item were printing and she hole punched it as well for me. Unfortunately, I will not be patronizing this establishment in the near future. I will go elsewhere and if it cost me more than so be it. It sad when you feel intimidated for spending your hard earned money during these trying times and limitations put upon us to keep us safe. Again, my fault for not checking their closing time on Saturday. Their fault for adhering to there rules when coming into the store and not disclosing that material fact upon entering the establishment, (that the store is closing.I would have left & waited for the next day to get my printing or printed it at home or my office....
