Anyone saying this is best Chinese in the area knows nothing about Chinese food or they work for restaurant with a fake review. Dragon Gate I once knew and loved is gone. update review July 2023 I decided to give this place another try and nothing has changed. I was there in the afternoon wanted to do a take out. The owners don't believe in air conditioning, girl and guy working behind the desk was stressed out and hot. Guests made some comments why is it so hot in here they must be cutting back on the AC. This time I ordered the orange chicken and fried rice. Orange chicken was so thick and not crispy and not cooked the right way and the same with the fried rice if you call it fried rice. The photo looks good and the food is not good at all. Egg Roll had a change and turned into a spring roll. Owners think the public is stupid not knowing how it should be cooked and presented. Dragon Gate for many years was very close to new york style Chinese not anymore. They sold the business and must of got rid of the chef because the food now is just horrible. Dragon Gate has now beaten Panda Express for the worst Chinese food in Pembroke Pines. Warning this place has gone down sorry to say things are not looking good for this place it changed since covid. I ordered the orange beef and it was soaking in a ton of liquid which left the beef soggy it lost its crispiness. Pork fried rice had no taste and everything was cold including the wonton soup. I have been long time customer of this place for over 20 years and have not been there since 2019. It got really bad I was ripped off of my $32.00. This area is in desperate need of great Chinese food. Most of the people here saying the food is great can't tell the difference between lo mein and chow mein. Older customers past away and the new generation knows nothing about good food that's why these horrible places stay in business.

Visited for lunch. Pictures of my bill and the fatty pork serves at my table. ***The last picture is the one taken by someone else who review this restaurant and I screenshot and posted for reference. Her pork platter was much more presentable, ours was laid flat in a row without so much as a leaf with all the fat in a long row. The only aspect that was pleasing to me was the presence of the waitresses at all times. The food was bland and the crispy pork was mostly fat and it cost $18.95 prime prices but pork mostly fat. I don't ever write reviews unless I am really upset. The main reason for this review is because of my dissatisfaction with the standard of service. The waitress took my leftover food to package in the back whilst the 3 other customers where packaged at there table.WHY????? I have a problem with my food leaving the table. The other customers were served oranges at the end of the meal and my husband and I won't. This is not about money but about businesses aspiring to be more professional and valuing there customers. I will never eat there again or recommend this place all because of not treating all customers the same. ALL customers should be treated equally! I felt a level of unfairness since the other customers were of a certain ethnicity and we obviously weren't. Discrimination is real and all business places should be sensitized to this and ensure that noone feel wronged. Come on you all do better please. I am so glad for the 3 Chinese restaurant I patronize and receive tasty food and the my oranges at the end. First and last time at this place.

Very nice ownership. The food on the main menu is mostly mainstream and attracts the century village early birds. However, they have a Chinese menu with more authentic dishes and good specials. So you can get very good food here, you just have to ask for the Chinese menu. A standout dish is their fish and tofu casserole served boiling in a clay pot. Steamed whole fish with ginger and scallion is a wonderful staple. See gua with pork is delicious. Tofu with dun goo (black mushrooms) is very yummy. I enjoy their bbq ribs. Also, their Peking Duck is lovely. My regular staple is vegetable hot and sour soup. Also, they generally will have seasonal chinese vegetable available like snow pea tips, baby bok choy, and lotus root. They host a Chinese New Year celebration with dragon dance every year in their parking lot. That is always a lot of fun.

Dear Management of Dragon Gate,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding an experience my daughter and I had at your restaurant last night. I have been a loyal customer of Dragon Gate for over twenty years and have always spoken highly of your food. It has been one of my favorite go-to restaurants for takeout and Uber Eats orders. I even had the opportunity to attend one of your Chinese New Year celebrations years ago with former Mayor Ortis, who often spoke highly of your establishment.

Unfortunately, our recent visit was extremely disheartening. It was the first time my daughter and I decided to dine in rather than order takeout. From the moment we were seated, we noticed a clear difference in how we were treated compared to other guests. As we observed other tables being set for Asian patrons with elegant dishware and beautiful, colorful hardcover menus. It became painfully clear that we were being treated differently because of our appearance. My daughter and I felt humiliated, unwelcome, and deeply disappointed that such behavior would occur in a place we have long supported and admired.

We were given paper takeout menus instead of the hardcover menus that other patrons received. Our table was set with paper napkins and a small, worn bowl containing fried noodles and dipping sauces, while other tables occupied by Asian patrons were provided with white China dishes, tea cups, and cloth napkins.

When I asked our waitress why we were not given the same menus, she replied that the hardcover menu was for “authentic Chinese food.” I explained that we had come to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine, yet we were still not offered the same service or options. Her limited English prevented further discussion, but by that point, both my daughter and I felt uncomfortable, singled out, and discriminated against.

It was deeply hurtful to experience this type of treatment, particularly in a place that I have supported and recommended for so many years. As a customer of Hispanic descent, I felt unwelcome and disrespected, and it was painful for my daughter to witness such unequal treatment. Last night, however, was my first time dining in, and sadly, it will be my last.

I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of disappointment and concern. No guest should ever feel excluded or treated differently based on their appearance or background. I hope you will take this matter seriously and ensure that all your staff provide the same level of hospitality and respect to every customer who visits your establishment.

Thank you for your time and attention. I would appreciate a response acknowledging this issue and any steps you intend to take to prevent this from...

Took my wife to my 88-year-old Mother in Law to a place . I’ve never eaten here before my wife ate there four years ago under a different ownership. She did not know that it sold two different places for Saturday afternoon at six in the evening of maybe two tables had people at it. The appetizers started out great came out kind of fast Rice cold soup had no flavored wonton soup And then, as we get our main course, my mother-in-law and my wife start choking didn’t understand why but we figured it out. They were cleaning the restaurant either the bathroom or somewhere with a product called Fabuloso my wife being in Latin and my mother will be Latin smell it right away to the point where they had to leave the restaurant because it was so strong that it was affecting their asthma so that room my dinner that ruined my day. Then I decided to speak to somebody about the bill and all they wanna offer me was 10% discount after ruining my evening on my very first time eating there, so I don’t recommend this place no I don’t recommend the food the appetizers were good the main course could not enjoy because of the chemicals they were cleaning the restaurant with, but I go back no do they need to change the way to handle things? Yes, they need not to lie to the customer and tell them that they’re something wrong with my nose and my mother-in-law and my wife must been smelling something else. They need to check themselves when you so people like that , so I recommend this place not at all did I pay my check? Yes I leave a tip no did they take care of my bill? No their idea of making me happy was to give me 10% discount I wasn’t asking for 10% discount I was asking them to fix the bill according to the way they ruined my evening, so as far as concern I give...
