If you don't know about this place, it's by the winking lizard in peninsula. That being said, it is also the most family friendly and beautiful of the tow paths in Northeast Ohio. Several years ago my wife and I bought some hybrid bikes and we're told about this path. It's incredibly long and there's so much to see and do that you almost never get sick of taking the same route. If you get bored go the other direction and there's plenty to see there too. One other nice thing, there are virtually no degenerates on these paths. They have federal park rangers and volunteer guides who walk the paths and keep it safe and clean for everyone. You're not likely to bump into any kids causing trouble, one of the last places that families can go without dealing that kind of aggravation. Read moreEasy to get to trailhead, along the river, right in the heart of Peninsula! There are opportunities for fishing, taking a dip, put-ins for kayak/paddle boards, and of course, trail access. Towpath is good for walking, running, or biking, and there are offshoots that go up into the woods, as well as connect to Deep Lock Quarry Metropark. The only real downsides are 1) it's usually VERY busy/crowded unless you can slip in at an off time or poor weather, and 2) the parking can be a little tight.
