Very clean, bright, and spacious salon. I started coming here about 2 years ago, and always book my appointments with Faith.

This review has been a looong-time coming, since I'm making up for many previous visits! So first, maybe take a seat at one of the cozy chairs in this salon, listen to some good music, and get comfortable with your choice of a complimentary beverage.

Since I started booking with Faith, she's been my preferred stylist: she is professional and has a down to earth personality, and she's always open to discussing questions about the colors and tones of highlights that I often request.

The first time I called the salon off of the Google-search listing to ask about booking here for the first time, she and I talked about what I was looking for, we scheduled a consultation appointment in-person, and she and I determined the best options for highlights I wanted based on my hair texture, length, natural color, etc. She is honest about what she's comfortable with working on within her various skill sets, and she always uses products that have the least negative impact as possible on my hair (and skin, eyes, & nose: talking about bleach). After the consult appointment finished, we decided to schedule the hair color & trim appointment at a later date. In terms of pricing: all of the hair treatments (including the highlight technique I now love, called "lived-in color"), are fair and in-line, or even more cost-effective, than other salons in this same area.

The first few of hair appointments I booked with her, she even took the time to show me examples of different coloring options with the reference books she had, since I had asked about different options available. Faith is very thorough, checks in often, and is great about providing timing expectations while my hair and the color do their thing! For my fellow introverts out there: there's never pressure to have to chit-chat during her appointments, though I always have a great time catching up with her from my previous appointments.

For trimming and cutting my hair: she's always been open to collaborating on what cut, length, and style could work for me based on my preferences for face-framing and practicality (for my very minimal styling techniques at home). She has also offered recommendations for at-home hair treatments that really worked for me. If you are looking for a new hair stylist, I HIGHLY recommend Amethyst Rain! After recently moving to Petaluma, I was searching high and low for someone wonderful that I could trust with my hair with. I chose Amethyst because her bio gave out a really good energy, and after having seen her for two haircuts already, I feel like I scored big time! She is genuinely kind and warm, and she is AMAZING at what she does. I've seen her for her "V.I.P. hair cut" service twice, which include the DREAMIEST and most luxurious scalp cleansing and massage I have ever experienced. I wouldn't normally treat myself to scalp massages, but the fact that she includes it in her haircut service has helped me to receive some much needed pampering and relaxation whenever I see her. I leave the bowl feeling like I was just in heaven and my scalp feeling squeaky clean. She always asks for what I am wanting to do with my hair and patiently reviews the inspiration I show her. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY FOR THE VERY TALENTED FAITH!!! Faith is honestly a HAIRGICIAN! I trust no one, but Faith, to color and cut my hair! This appointment, I told Faith I wanted to be icier blonde, with my natural roots, and two money pieces. She showed me the colors she had available for the money pieces, and she had a large variety of colors! We chose a pastel pinky purple and it compliments the blonde perfectly! Faith cut my hair with layers so my curls will be healthy and curl nicely post shower. Faith also styled my hair by straightening it! I have also gotten a blow-out from Faith and it looked incredible! Faith is fun, easy to talk to, and it will feel like you’ve known her for years. She’s a whole vibe, that you definitely want to get to know and have be your stylist! It’s like you get an AMAZING hair color, cut, style, and a therapy session with your girlfriend all in one!
