Highly recommended. Pleasant staff and, in my opinion and experience, honest and fair.
I recently needed to sell some silver dimes and two antique watches that I inherited from my mother. Mostly on a whim I dropped by Petaluma Estate Jewelers. Ryan, the owner, was very pleasant and welcoming. We discussed the value and condition of the watches, then he made me an offer which, based on my research on-line, was very reasonable. Given the family history, I told him that I wanted to take some time to think it over. He thought that was a good idea and, in fact, suggested that I might want to hold onto them. That was really refreshing because I think that a less fair dealer would have either pressured me and/or offered a higher price.
When it came to the dimes, he paid the usual rate for silver by weight and trusted me enough that he didn't bother to count them (there were five rolls).
I've worked in the used book trade for many years and, in that time, I've gotten a good sense of whether a used dealer is honest or trying to play games. Ryan shows all the signs of being a consummately honest professional. I'll certainly buy and sell with him in the future. In fact, he's my new favorite...

Also, finally moving through and selling my own coins, watches and family heirlooms that don't fit my increasing minimalist lifestyle. Met Ryan, the owner with a bag of silverware to start as antique jewelry is definitely his fortet and not mine. The shop is lovely right in the thick of Kentucky street downtown Petaluma. The lighting, the window displays becconning further review to reveal treasures from the past...hoping to become something that "sparks joy"like Marie Kondo lights up folding baby clothes. The silver, not Sterling really does not add up to much unless you have alot. But Ryan can quickly gage the quality and what will sell, and offer the fairest price. He also informs you insightful things you might not know or provides alternative avenues for your treasures if an agreement isn't found. His team is fantastic. Fair warning... it's very difficult to not see something you want for your sweetie, Mom or even hipster boyfriend. Also, walk both sides of Kentucky Street in this block....everyone will be happy. Read moreA rarity when you wish google had more than 5 stars!!!! I have been shopping at Petaluma Estate Jewelry for five years now and have absolutely loved every single purchase I’ve ever made. The shop has a nice vibe and allows you the opportunity to browse, try items on and consider without pressure of making a sale which in my opinion is a better shopping experience vs a chain/retail, supporting small business and better quality, selection, items, and rare items. I personally enjoy a unique piece of jewelry that isn’t mass produced that everyone can buy online and this is my go-to!!
Because I love to wear my jewelry and occasionally abuse it I’ve also taken in several repairs and they have turned out absolutely flawless I mean impeccable, which is something that can make a new customer turning in a repair super nervous and anxious because it’s hard to trust people with your treasured valuables Every item has come back just absolutely amazing. So stop and you need to check it out. You will not be...
