Darrell Riley is phenomenal. Seriously. He is super friendly, knowledgeable and does everything in his power to accommodate you. We came into the store about two weeks before Thanksgiving looking for a new dinette set. We were hosting Thanksgiving and needed a new dinette set ASAP. We chose a beautiful set, bar stool height table and chairs and signed the paperwork. Darrell guaranteed us that we'd have it, in about a week, definitely before Thanksgiving. He took the time to make sure our paperwork was spot on and made sure each piece was in stock. My ordering that set was contingent solely on the ability for me to have it before Thanksgiving.
We left and as we drove home, we realized that we wanted a standard height, to accommodate my mother, instead of the barstool height. I called the store immediately and asked for Darrell. We were told he was gone for the night, but to come into the store the next day to swap the size.
My hubby went back in to switch it the next morning. Darrell was not there but my husband was helped by someone else. They also guaranteed a delivery date of about a week, definitely before Thanksgiving. Our delivery date only changed by about 1 day. Our delivery date passed, but I didn't worry because we were guaranteed delivery before Thanksgiving. 3 days before Thanksgiving, my husband called to inquire about our delivery date. The person on the line looked us up and told us we would not have a table by Thanksgiving. I freaked out. I asked to speak with Darrell immediately.
They had him call me back and I probably sounded like a lunatic as I explained how upset I was. He was EXTREMELY apologetic. He wasn't aware that we'd come back to switch the size. He looked up our account, to see what happened, and he asked me to let him make it right. I relented and didn't ask for management because I honestly knew I could trust him. Normally, I'm calling corporate immediately for a screw up like this, but I knew Darrell would help us somehow. It appears that not all items were in stock, for standard height, at the time my husband came back in. But the other sales person didn't tell him that!
He called us back the next day and told us that we would have our table/set the following day (the day before Thanksgiving). I don't know what strings he pulled, but I was SOOO happy.
Sure enough, it was delivered by noon the next day. Darrell saved our Thanksgiving!!
So, it was a no brainier when, a couple of weeks later, we decided we wanted to buy a new mattress. We went back to Ashley (12/09) and we sat and patiently waited for Darrell. We wouldn't work with anyone else.
He is the ONLY reason we went back to Ashley to choose our mattress. He remembered us by name and genuinely seemed happy to see us. He has an amazing memory! He makes you feel like you're important.
He helped us choose the best mattress for us and he was so friendly and personable as we looked at almost every mattress Ashley had on the floor. We were in a time crunch and he made sure to respect that and STILL got us the mattress we wanted (a comfy Stearn's and Foster Pillow top đ).
Our experience with Ashley could have turned out completely different, but because of Darrell's impeccable customer service, Ashely has gained long time customers.
Good customer service is rare! I have been working in healthcare for many years and I know how important it is to take care of the person first, putting business aside when needed.
Darrell is an asset to Ashely. If you're looking for quality furniture and a GREAT sales person, go into Ashley and ask for Darrell. He will really go above and...
Read moreTo say Thank you to Al at Ashley furniture on Roosevelt Boulevard is not nearly enough! Myself my daughter and her fiancĂ© who is mildly autistic went shopping for furniture approximately a month ago. We started out at a furniture store in blue Bell where he lives and weâre pretty much blown off by the sales rep at Raymour and Flanigan.
However I decided to bring them back to our home and go over to Ashley furniture even though it was approximately 7 PM at night. We were greeted very kindly as soon as we walked in the door. Al, The sales rep kindly asked us if we needed any help. I was concerned because it was late and I did not want to feel rushed. Happily it was the exact opposite. For the next hour or so this gentleman helped my daughterâs fiancĂ© pick out several sets and then narrow it down to two. He even went farther by moving around end tables and coffee tables that were set up with other furniture sets so that Jack could better visualize how they would look in his home. This went back-and-forth many times. I could not ask for a more patient, compassionate and supportive individual.
Once the furniture, and tables and coffee table were picked out he then went on to also move around lamps on the end tables that Jack picked out. This way Jack could see what the entire room would look like including a rug to go under the coffee table. In 58 years, having moved three or four times and having to buy new furniture , I have to say was the most pleasant experience I myself have ever had.
Now as things are with Covid, it was explained very clearly to us that the furniture could be as late as the end of August maybe even into September. Al wrote up paperwork stating that if the furniture wasnât there by date we agreed on,We would get a full refund. Al kept in contact with Jack calling make sure everything was OK. To our surprise a week ago Jack received a phone call stating that the furniture was going to be delivered this past Sunday. June 27. What a wonderful experience all around. The furniture looks amazing. Itâs funny that sometimes when we buy something new we say everything is great but. How wonderful to be able to just say everything is great! Jack, and Christine, and myself would like Al and Ashley furniture To know how much we appreciate their help and kindness and their diligence to make sure Jack got his furniture even earlier than we ever expected . Last but not least Julio and his assistant, these are the gentleman who deliverd the furniture, Weâre also full of smiles and willing to help Jack in every way set up his furniture. This was amazing from start to finish. We thank all who were involved in making sure Jack had a brand new living room that he felt comfortable in. Al, you made it completely stress-free. We thank you so very much! In Gods...

We went to the store twice. During the first visit, we were given the last price for the Levon sofa, lower than the display price. We didnt buy the sofa at that time as we need to measure our living room to make sure it could fit in. Weve had a chance to check the prices online and they are quite lower than that of being offered by this store. During the second visit, we were given a price that is higher than the first price that was given to us. The explanation was, there might be something that the staff( from the first visit) have missed to include in the price which they couldnt explain further. We told them also about the price that online stores offer so maybe they could give us a reasonable price, but unfortunately, they couldnt. Since we are already there and we needed a sofa, we proceed with transactions. They offered us installment plan which we thought would be helpful so we agreed on, provided that there will be no hard inquiry on the credits. My husband even explained to the staff the very important reason for that. We asked them a few times and the two staffs were so confident and reassured us that there will be no hard inquiry on credits and will not affect the credit score as the inquiry is only from a department store. That being said, my husband gave them the TRUST. But we were very disappointed and felt deceived after my husband received a message from the bank regarding the inquiry and it has affected his credit score so badly. My husband just decided to pay the amount in cash. As advertised and told to us by the staffs, there will be no taxes and delivery charge. But to our surprise, when my husband checked the sales invoice, there was a tax stated on it. My husband asked the staff who assisted us why is that so, and she said that there is still tax but didnt explain. Since we do not have the choice and has already paid the amount and was already feeling very disappointed at that time, and felt that all our inquiries is not being answered clearly, all we wanted to do is to get out from the store and get the sofa delivered. It also seemed that there is a poor communication between the staffs in this store as evidenced when my husband was in the counter and the staff said, "so, you're all set", ( what she meant was were done and we can go). We almost got the sofa for free!!! My husband was wondering why because he hasnt paid yet, but honesty is the best policy so my husband said that he hasnt paid yet. All along, the staff at the counter( cashier) thought that we proceeded with the installment plan which the staff who assisted us didnt tell her that we are paying cash. I REALLY HOPE THAT THE OWNER WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS CAUSE THIS IS REALLY A BAD BAD IMAGE TO...
