I will NEVER step foot in this salon ever again. I was an extremely loyal customer to this salon for 15+ years, dating back to when I was a client at the original Salon Norman Dee when it was in Krewstown. I had always stayed true to coming to this salon to get my hair highlighted because I loved my stylist and I could never find anyone to get my hair blonde the way I liked it. I could never find someone to cut my hair the way I wanted it done there so I went to another salon and found someone amazing. Even going to a new salon, I stayed true and continued to go back time after time for my highlights which meant 2 separate days I needed to be inconvenienced to get my hair done. I had been getting a double process done for months on end and after the salon’s product was discontinued, they changed it to a different brand which FRIED my hair off. My stylist would not own up to the fact that something happened to my hair when I called her. A few days later I demanded to speak to the manager, Tabitha who is rude and was trying to blame my hair issue or me. She also offered extensions in my hair (she’s not a stylist) to which my stylist jumped up and said my hair is extremely damaged and I can not have extensions (I even knew that). My stylist told me she had gotten chemical burns from the product she used a week prior to applying it on me so why would they have used this on my hair? I now have to walk around with horrible roots and my hair cut short because they completely ruined my hair. I won’t be able to bleach my hair again for a very long time. This happened in August (it is now almost December!) and my hair is still completely ruined. The person who cuts my hair said it’s very obvious that the bleach was applied wrong with where my breakage is but the salon will never own up to this. I was refunded my money for the service and also given products to help restore my hair but this was only AFTER I had told Tabitha that both Redken and my other salon couldn’t believe she didn’t offer me any deep conditioning treatments or products to help with the damage. I will never recommend this salon to anyone. This isn’t the first time I’ve had an issue with a stylist messing up my hair here, I should have learned from before. I had gotten hot heads tape in extensions in my hair years ago. The stylist applied them to my hair, the color didn’t match and she placed them so close to the scalp that it actually ripped hair directly out of my scalp. I had to go to their jenkintown location for a stylist there who specializes in it to tell me they were put on wrong and also that the extensions clearly didn’t match my hair and should have had low lights added in prior to putting them on. I hope people learn their lesson and avoid this salon. Especially if you want to be blamed for your hair not being done correctly or feel like no one cares about what happened. I now have to have a constant reminder when I look in the mirror or do my hair that my hair is...
Read moreRecently booked a blowout at the grant location. I arrived 10 mins early and waited in the front waiting area. I did not get called to head back until 40 minutes past the time of my scheduled appointment. Someone finally came up to me and guided me to the back to get my hair washed let’s call her woman A. She introduces me to a woman let’s call her woman B. Woman A tells me woman B will be washing my hair and leaves. I sit down and woman A leaves. Woman B says she will be washing my hair but after a minute or so she has me sit in her washing chair and looks over to her coworker (Woman C) and asks her if it’s alright if she goes on break. I am confused at this point as Woman B and Woman A made it seem as though I was finally getting my hair washed. Anyway, Woman C does not really say yes or no I think she may have nodded about break and I think woman B may have even asked woman C to wash my hair for her since she wanted to go on break. I don’t know if woman C heard her or chose to ignore her but anyway Woman B leaves. I watch as woman C tends to other things and does her work. She never once came over to me or acknowledges me in any capacity. Another 20 minutes go by and at this point I can feel my face getting hot and feeling so uncomfortable by this entire situation. I wanted to leave right then and there but and at this point it had been an hour since I arrived (past my scheduled appointment) and no one had even touched my hair. I felt so neglected by this salon. Finally woman B returns acting so shocked that woman C had not washed my hair. Woman B apologized a couple times and washed my hair (I think she could tell I was upset) I said it was ok even thought it obviously was not… I don’t know if this had to do with the fact that I am a colored person but it’s hard not to wonder as I was the only colored person there (I am Indian). Anyway she washes my hair and sends me over to my hairstylist. My hairstylist was nice though she didn’t speak to me much at all aside from saying hello and asking what kind of blowout I wanted. Which is fine, I don’t really care if people speak a lot or little to be honest but given what had happened so far I think it would have made me feel a little better to converse and feel like a person of course my hairstylist didn’t really know what had happened so far so I don’t blame her at all. She was nice enough but honestly my hair did not look good at all. I’ve managed better blowouts at home on my own. It was a waste of time and money but more than anything this was the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon or any establishment of this kind in my entire life. I came in with high hopes because the place was so pretty and everyone else’s hair I noticed in the place looked gorgeous but I will not be back. I’d like to add I tipped over 20% even though my hair looked so flat and not at all a blowout. It also...
Read moreI can't believe I'm doing this because I strongly dislike spreading negativity but my experience was so bad that I feel a responsibility to share. I'm new to the area and needed a haircut badly. I have crazy curly hair and typically only use word of mouth reference. I was sent here by two people. I was hesitant. Where I come from I can spend $20 on a haircut. I was assured, paying close to $50 for a haircut at a nice salon would be more than worth it. When I arrived I was bombarded by a woman at the front desk who immediately started playing with my hair. 5 minutes into her taking my hair clip out she introduced herself as my hairdresser. She then brought me back to the wash area. She was annoyed that the washer wasn't there and complained for another 5 minutes about the fact that she would have to wash my hair (as if it were beneath her). She still hadn't asked me about the issues I had with my hair (if any) or what I was looking for. She got soap in my eyes and all over my face and never offered to wipe it away AND when she was rinsing my hair there was cold water pouring down my back. I then had to sit in the air conditioning; freezing cold for the remainder of the appointment. My hair has changed over the last year and I have been struggling with dryness, every time I tried to let her know what I had tried using; she cut me off and ended up telling me all of these options and remedies I had already tried. Not to mention, I asked for someone familiar with curly hair and she said she wasn't used to seeing curls like mine.
When it came time to check out I was told that I couldn't put a tip on my card (yes I was still going to tip after all of this). The lady at the desk told me very rudely that there was an atm in Giant. Unfortunately I had just lost my debit card a few days prior and was awaiting the arrival of a new one. I had no way to take out cash. Had they told me prior, I would have found the time to stop at the bank prior to my visit. Either way, my hair is still dry, the cut is ok but she didn't cut much off and I didn't get the answers to the questions I was looking for. Maybe I'm wrong but if you are pricing hire than a chain salon...I expect expertise and excellent customer service.
I'm a nurse manager and NO job is beneath me. I take out the trash and wipe dirty bottoms just as much as my employees. My status doesn't make me 'too good' for anything. I can't believe I had to hear someone complain about washing my hair. I will not return and I will not...
