I want to give 0 stars. I usually don't make complaints but I'm making an exception after the awful experience I had at this ER. The nurses at the front were exceptional, and kind. I wish one of them could have been my nurse. Unfortunately, I feel I had the worst nurse I've ever come in contact with. I communicated with her for a total of under 5 minutes being there for almost 3 hours. So it should say A LOT that I would take the time to write this, to have had such an awful experience with a nurse I barely came in contact with... She was flippant, rude, short, condescending, I could go on. She talked to me as if I were a child, and treated me like one in the way she spoke to me. This ER is not attentive at all. I was treated as if I was a burden in being there. As if I don't have the right to seek care after an accident. The doctor barely let me explain what happened, how I was feeling, what fears I had about it, or my medical history. Bc again it was as if I was wasting their time. Honestly the doctor wasn't much better than the nurse. It was as if they didn't want to give me any care bc they thought nothing was wrong with me. Even though I said I thought I had another concussion. They offered me ibuprofen and told me to go home. Oh no wait, they didn't tell me to go home. I actually sat there for another 20 minutes unnecessarily bc the doctor handed me my Rx but never said I could go home. I'm thinking I have to be formally discharged. Well I hadn't seen the nurse since she handed me a pill and made a smart comment about an xray or ultrasound when I was hoping to request one or the other. I asked her to speak with the doctor again bc I had questions, she said she would get him. I never saw him again until he handed me that Rx for Tylenol that I could buy at CVS. I ended up asking (who at the time I didn't know was the charge nurse) if I could go home. She said she would get my nurse. My nurse showed up alright, but walked right to her station. Probably having no intention of addressing me. So I addressed her. I asked if I could go home and she said yeah sure you're good to go. I said well I haven't received any discharge instructions. I would like instructions for the concussion. She asked, "you had a concussion?" I said, that's why I came in here. I have a concussion history I wanted to be looked at bc of how I'm feeling (I hit my face and also had other things going on around that area so I wanted to be seen, again not thinking I'd have to explain to a nurse why I'm choosing to seek care for myself...So when I said to her I have a concussion history I would like my instructions written on paper, she said "well then you should already know what to do." Again not feeling well and barely being seen or examined, I'm still standing there having to explain why I'm there, why I want it written down on paper, as if it is not my right as a PATIENT to request and receive this! Especially when this care is NOT FREE! The doctor never checked my eyes, never treated me as if I needed care. I honestly have never had a more deplorable experience with a medical staff than this one. And being there 3 hours I was spoken to twice for under 2 minutes and only received my discharge instructions bc I instructed the nurse to get her supervising nurse bc I was no longer willing to speak to her. SHE. WAS. AWFUL. It was as if she knew how awful she was with the few things she said to me, but she found humor in it. Like, "so you should know what to do" is your response?! Some people shouldn't work in healthcare and my goodness she is certainly one of them. Do yourself a favor... and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE YOU WILL BE TREATED BETTER! Because you CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me begin by saying that this has been the best hospital stay/visit Iāve ever had! Starting from meeting The security guard with the clown mask who took my temperature who couldnāt be more helpful, to the security guard and front desk woman whose names I cannot remember, the mans name began with a G, and the woman had blonde hair, they were both amazing. And then went and met Anisa in the registration/Cashiers office, she was so sweet and professional, I donāt think Iāve never been treated so kind in a medical professional environment.
Shortly after meeting with the cashier I met with Pat in Outpatient registration, another doll. After I went to registration I then went up and met with the OR prep nurses, Kay, Mary Delaney, And I believe the other two where Tom and Patti, they are, especially Mary Delaney, made me feel so at home and relaxed, I didnāt want to leave there. I was then brought into surgery, of course I donāt remember much of that, I woke up in room 306. It was then I met the nurses that would care for me from that evening till the next morning, they were amazing as well. So a special thank you to Liz, Porsche, and the other night nurses whose names I failed to get. The next morning I was greeted by Tina and Jailyn. Tina is an amazing nurse who provides great comfort, as well as a sense of humor that is much needed. Jailyn is a wonderful young lady, who is going to make an excellent nurse one day, because she is an outstanding nursing assistant, not to mention she is fun, professional, and just the sweetest thing. This now brings us to Paul, The physical therapist, he was the kindest, most sweet, patient man Iāve ever encountered, he makes you want to do better, and I think I did due to his encouragement and professionalism. Then there is Tim, from pulmonology, you inspired me to look into quitting smoking as well as initiating another āyou have to quitā lecture from my mom the whole way home, thank you Tim. š
Last, but not least of course, I have to thank the AMAZING Dr. Pasquella For being absolutely amazing and taking care of my condition as if it were top priority, knowing that he has many other patients, he is a true professional, so caring, and makes you feel like thereās nothing you canāt accomplish even though you feel horrible.
I apologize to who gave me such outstanding care whose names I canāt remember, in addition to those that I have named in this review, everybody was so unbelievably amazing. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and I hope I never see any of you again (just kidding) Unless it is in a non-medical environment.
Again thank you all so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Chedtnut Hill Hospital on 2/1/18 for a chest x-ray. My physician and the x-ray technician said I had to wait until the results were in. I waited an hour or more for results only to be told there was another patient with my name and they called that patientās physician with my results. I told my physician what happened and advised her I did no trust the x-ray. Iām a patient Liaison for the largest healthcare company in the country. I know that giving orthorhombic patients information to someone not authorized is a HIPAA violation and can cause a patient to receive wrong treatment. I will send my dispute to the CFO and cc the Attorney General. Then on 2/10/18 I went for a bone scan only to be told after the bone scan I needed a MRI by the physician who reads the scans. I come back fo the MRI Iām on crutches not one time that Evening was I offered a will chair. I hopped from outpatient to across the hall to radiation then the technician a few minutes later had me hop all the way down the hall to MRI. She then had a nerve to ask me halfway if I could carry the paper so she could return. WoW what kind of service is this!!!!!! Not to mention my physician is a part of Tower Health. And I had to wait 5 days for an appointment for a very painful ,swollen ankle. Instead of being referred to an orthopedic specialist from the beginning I wasnāt referred until week 2 And I just got a message from her advising me of my MRI results another week later. I just saw a orthopedic specialist this week. He wanted to know why it took her so long to refer me. This is how Chestnuthill Hospital treat their patients. Then they have a nerve to bill...
