Nice park area with beautiful historic building. There are a lot of dogs walking and plenty of parking. My favorite part of the area is the gazebo, where there are park benches, parking, as well as firepits for grilling and or just a regular bonfire roasting session. Everyone is friendly in the park, and it as a nice spot to catch the sunset, relax with friends, have a few drinks (responsibly) and get out of the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia. It is not far off the main roads, and easily accessible. Beware for those slammed cars, the pot holes are brutal, so if you have a lowlow type of car, be warned you will scrape something vicious.

The Lemon Hill mansion, built in 1800, has been extensively renovated and just reopened to the public in 2023. The land's original owner, Robert Morris, was a founding father who built a greenhouse growing lemons there in the18th century. The mansion is now managed by the Fairmount Park Conservancy . It is open to the public for special events. In December, they decorate the mansion to celebrate holiday traditions around the world. When we visited, there were gorgeous decorated trees and whole rooms celebrating Christmas in Ukraine, Sweden, Mexico and more. There is free parking in the lot and along the road leading to the entrance.

The Mansion is not open year round for visitors, but the grounds surrounding it are open every day of the year and the park offers plenty of places to throw down a blanket or pop up a chair and picnic, read a book, enjoy nature, or walk along the trails that dot the park north and south of the mansion. The hill to the SE towards Kelly Drive and the end/start of Boathouse Row offers one of the top five public viewing points of the city's skyline. Definitely worth checking out if you plan on being in the area - even just for a few minutes. Highly recommend for sunset and nighttime photos of the city.

Philly does it like none other. If you've been to PHS or Center City District pop up beer gardens/ bars you know what I mean. The ambiance is worth the 15 minute wait for over priced, luke warm drinks... Meaning the hot toddy won't be the cold buster you're looking for but the over proof Irish whiskey makes up for the lack of kelvin energy. The Mexican inspired hot chocolate doesn't bring the "hot" in temp either but the mix of mescal, tequila and chipotle blend so well you're more likely to forget it isn't your mother's carnation instant packet and hot milk with the funky film. Leave the funky feel to the dj spinning ambient appropriate beats with just a touch of holiday... If you're not bringing your own libations, get in line, grab your drinks, cozy up by one of the several the fire pits and warm your toes. Play some lawn games and take a photo on the ice benches or the ice sculpted lemon tree. It's worth the Fairmount...

Lemon Hill Mansion is a historic Federal-style mansion located within Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. Constructed between 1799 and 1800 by merchant Henry Pratt, the mansion is named for the lemon trees that were once cultivated on the property. It sits on land that was part of a larger estate called “The Hills,” previously owned by Robert Morris, a financier of the American Revolution. The mansion is notable for its unique architectural features, including three oval parlors with curved fireplace mantles and doors. After the City of Philadelphia began acquiring land to protect its water supply, Lemon Hill became the first property incorporated into the new Fairmount Park in 1855. Over the years, it has served various purposes, including a restaurant and a residence for the first director of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Fiske Kimball, who restored it to its...
