Not worth it, do NOT go here. I’ve been here a few times in hopes of it being the great bagel place that Brewerytown needs, but consistently leave disappointed and with bad energy. My last visit today began with a 2 bagel order, 1 I requested to be scooped. The owner said they may not scoop because they’re busy, which I found off-putting since scooping a bagel takes under a minute, but I get it.
After people who came in after us started getting their orders, I inquired where ours was, and they said they forgot our order. It happens. I was told it would be right out. After repeated reassurances and waiting an additional 15 minutes, the order came. Not only was my 1 bagel not scooped as requested (which should not have been an issue given they were no longer busy), but there were barely any salmon lox on the bagels and the bagels were barely toasted at all. A complete waste of time and money.
I get that things happen but there’s a lack of professionalism in my opinion at this place in what could have a lot of potential. In the situation above, offer a cookie or jam or coffee, or something as an apology for your error. That’s simple and basic customer service. This lack of professionalism is made exponentially worse by an owner who gives off the vibe that he is better than everyone else. And in reading other bad reviews here, they attack those who attack their business. Not a good look.
I get this is just a bagel order, and stuff happens, but there is a basic level of decency and service expected. Bad vibes - pretty disappointed....
Read moreI cannot rant and rave about this spot enough. The owners and employees are so down-to-earth, the space is bright and colorful, but most importantly — the food and baked goods are scrumptious beyond your wildest dreams. And secondarily, and shockingly to my meat-eating friends, it’s all vegan! I dream of their “Lox of Love” bagel sandwich because I don’t eat fish anymore and this hits the spot like no other vegan lox I’ve ever had. I bring my partner their whoopie pies and they’re mind-blown that they’re vegan. Their loafs are so delectable, their sweet and savory baked goods are better than most non-vegan bakeries, and the flaky French pastries are utter perfection. I would opt for pickup or sit-down since I had trouble with DoorDash once, but don’t let that deter you from ordering. Whether you’re vegan or just looking for a wonderful small, local bakery to support, they’ve got something to pique...
Read moreI am so excited this place opened in Brewerytown! I did not know for a week after going here that this is a vegan bakery!!! Nice to have a place I can walk to. The bakery itself is beautiful and very thoughtfully designed with dog treats and samples and one stunning case of goodies! I did feel the Phillywide sandwich was a bit greasy, or at least the bagel was. As this is a vegan bakery, I'm not an expert on vegan breakfast sandwiches and it was still very good. Iced coffee with oat milk was amazing and I'd hope with the nutty inflation going on that they will be successful so happy to...
