Terrible service and management at this location. Based on other reviews, our experiences were common (decent food but awful service/management). I suggest going elsewhere. We’ve been here before and it was good for the most part. The food has always been ok and the service sub-par, but at least the wait staff was friendly. Today, our waitress was flat out rude and ignored us, along with the other 2 tables she had. We weren’t the only ones who had problems with her this morning either. My girlfriend ordered an iced coffee and asked for vanilla flavoring and milk on the side (how it came on our last visits). The waitress brought her something that was already mixed and was overly sugary. After not drinking it, she politely asked the waitress for the iced coffee with items on the side, as she ordered it, to which the waitress snapped and said “I’ll have to ask the manager if I can give you another because we do not do refills/redos based on customers’ taste.” And then she said “that’s how our iced lattes always come here.” First off, we ordered an iced coffee, not a latte, AND told her this! Second, that’s not even how a latte is made! This waitress clearly just did not listen to us, even after we politely brought up HER MISTAKE to her. Then she tries to blame it on us?! C’mon... And it wasn’t even busy, she had 2 other tables. She ignored us throughout, never gave us refills on other drinks, AND MY COFFEE WAS COLD/ROOM TEMP when it first came out. She didn’t pay attention to us until it was time to flip the table and hand me a bill. Cherry on top was the fact that she, and the manager whom she consulted with, had the nerve TO CHARGE US FOR 2 LATTES THAT WE NEVER ORDERED IN THE FIRST PLACE. I’ve waited tables for many years and worked in a number of different restaurants, and the quality of the waitstaff is always attributable to the quality of the management. The “manager” today, who looked like she just rolled out of bed and was inappropriately dressed even for a yoga class, should be ashamed. This is a spot with a lot of potential and good food, but awful management is holding it back from ever having satisfied customers. Take your business elsewhere.

I'm admittedly a suburbanite who had heard lots of good things about Green Eggs but hadn’t actually been there…until this past weekend that it. I went with friends who had been several times, and they wisely advised waiting until later in the afternoon to avoid crowds (and about the place being cash only). We had no wait when we arrived around 1:30pm on a Sunday. The menu has so many choices, it was honestly a little overwhelming - in a good way! I was totally spying on the food being delivered to the tables around me, and I’m glad, because it became quite evident that the portions are MASSIVE. I ended up choosing a Savory & Sweet board with the Crème Brulée French toast, mac & cheese, and the tinga egg rolls. I loved the French toast – easy to see why that is a best seller. It had the perfect level of sweetness, and the texture was exactly what I wanted. It wasn’t too eggy, which made me so happy. The tinga egg rolls were flavorful. The one big disappointment was the mac and cheese. It just wasn’t hot enough, and the texture of the cheese sauce wasn’t pleasant as a result. I think if it’d been hotter and creamier, it would have been more appetizing. I ate a few bites and didn't feel compelled to go back to it. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the service was friendly and prompt. That said, the unisex bathroom needs a little TLC. I love the concept of a unisex bathroom, but it has to be well maintained. The bathroom was stinky and there was no purse hook anywhere – folks need a clean/sanitary place to hang a bag please! Overall, the food was largely great and I would definitely return.

Flavorful Dishes with Some Service and Policy Quirks ★★★.5 Green Eggs Café in Philly offers a memorable brunch experience, but it’s not without its quirks. Let’s start with the food:
The Crème Brûlée French Toast was incredibly rich and decadent—vanilla extract and heavy cream really came through, making it bold and flavorful (though it might be too much for some). The Short Rib Egg Roll and Egg White Omelette were both packed with flavor and cooked well. Unfortunately, the Cheesy Hash Brown was a letdown—it came out as an overcooked, fried rectangle lacking the texture and taste I expected. We went around 10 a.m. on a Friday. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The interior was clean, modern, and decently spacious without feeling cramped. Metered parking is available along the side street ($2 for 2 hours), which was convenient. Pros: * Flavorful, creative dishes * Fast food prep despite the crowd * Diverse menu with fresh ingredients Cons: * Service didn’t match the food quality—our server responded “I don’t know” to basic menu questions and never checked in after food was delivered * An automatic 18% gratuity is charged on checks over $50 (a policy I haven’t seen in this kind of setting) * Cash only, which isn’t made super obvious ahead of time * Policy posted on every table says if your dish isn’t to your liking, it can only be remade “to the chef’s standard”—which feels a bit rigid and unwelcoming Would I come back? For the food, yes. But I’d manage my expectations around service and the unusual business practices.

Horrible and disappointing service! I will not return to the Girard location ever

Sunday, August 24, 2025, around 1:00 PM. My family and I have been regular patrons of this location and have always enjoyed great service in the past. Unfortunately, our most recent visit did not meet the high standards we have come to expect from your establishment. During our meal, my grandson ordered the red velvet pancakes, and as my son was cutting into the pancakes, he found a long strand of hair. We immediately informed our server, whose name we unfortunately did not catch. What followed was a deeply disappointing interaction. The server returned with my grandson‘s plate in hand to let us know that the manager on duty (an Hispanic woman) had said, "No one in the kitchen has long hair." At this point, we were left feeling dismissed and confused. This response did nothing to address our concern or offer any remedy. Instead, the manager's tone was defensive and flippant, and we received no apology for the situation. To make matters worse, when we asked to have the meal removed from the bill, the manager refused. It is crucial for any service-oriented business to handle customer complaints with empathy and professionalism. In situations like this, a sincere apology and an effort to rectify the problem should be the first course of action. Sadly, we did not experience either. As a result, we left the restaurant feeling disrespected and disappointed. Given this experience, we have decided not to return to this location. I believe it is important to bring this issue to your attention so that future customers do not have similar experiences. I also recommend investing in customer service training for all staff, particularly in handling complaints with professionalism...

When I say I love this place I love this place I support them 100% but in different locations. Attempted for the second time to use door dash delivery service to place my order which was over $100, and per the app you could not Make any changes to the meals you would have to contact the store For any changes to orders. so I get the same thing everytime I eat here but normally I deal with the Northern liberties location. I will never deal with Girard Avenue again, the woman who answered the phone I asked a few questions or if I explain to her that on the app it was not giving me the options to change anything or do anything and that I had a call into the store. I wanted to place mushrooms and Swiss cheese on my eggs and she said well we can’t do that because there’s no way to charge you for that. OK no problem fine not that serious but then I also ordered French toast with vanilla cream and ask can I get additional sauce on the side. The woman proceeded on telling me you have to look on the app it’ll be on the app, I read off everything to her on the app under sides and everything and explained that the option was not there she said well I can’t do that either because I can’t charge you for the additional sauce. So I then informed her that I never had to pay additional money for vanilla sauce And asked her what is it possibly that I can do to get the order that I want it especially spending over $100. she rushed me off the phone Took my name said they’ll give me the extra sauce… Lo and behold when my order comes there is no extra sauce she basically just got me off of the phone. I’m sure certain things could have been done differently especially with a customer who spends over $100 but moving forward I will no longer come to...
