mom and pop restaurant without the charm
came in around 12:15 pm, had to wait a long time to get a menu because a party of 6 was using all of their available menus. tried to order a turkey hoagie but they said it would be a very long wait because the group of 6 had just ordered before us and we were nudged towards ordering breakfast.
a turkey and cheese omelette was missing the turkey and the person who served us didn't offer an apology or a fix, just said it was "too late". the two people in front of house seemed generally annoyed that we were there at all
food was just okay, not bad but nothing remarkable.
would not recommend, definitely...
Read moreI've been coming here since I was about 7 years old, I am going on 30 now. This is one of my favorite Diners in Philadelphia. As soon as you walk in you can feel the history that this restaurant has, over the 40+ years it's been open. This family has served millions of in and out of town guest with phenomenal tasting food and service. I would put their french toast against any Diner in Philly and I've been to majority, it's by far the best I've tasted coming from a Diner. Overall the food is delicious, please come out enjoy a great meal and spread the word of Blue Jay restaurant...
Read moreThis place is a local gem. Authentic family owned local, corner diner. We ate here twice during our stay in the neighborhood (Brewerytown). The place was not crowded either morning. This made me nervous at first. That was short lived as the food was great and service friendly. Their pancakes, French toast, creamed chipped beef and home fries were all great. The second visit we introduced my daughter and her boyfriend to our local favorite. They are new to the neighborhood and will be back.
Again no wait...
