Updates: I hope this is the last time to update my disappointment living here. My delivering order was delivered to the shelf at the front door, and it disappeared within an hour. No one will take care of your delivering order and anyone else living in Paloma can take your package. For the avoidance of doubt, delivering order here means all takeaway of food, fresh food, beverages, etc. Leasing is only responsible for managing deliveries from Amazon, UPS, etc., but food such as Uber Eat is placed on the outside shelf. And as I observed, it happened a lot! Many residents have complained about this but the only answer you get from the leasing office is: take your delivering order immediately or call the police. There is no other solution. The only thing you can do is accept this result no matter how many times your delivering order is missing and how expensive this is. Well, that is to say, if you don't mind your delivering order being taken by someone else or if you can take your delivering order immediately every time, otherwise, you may feel disappointed living here :)
Updates: The first problem is been solved after 7 months. The second problem was solved after 2 months and a week. The leasing said they have a new plan to overcome this problem if this happens again.
Original Post: I wish I could give 0 stars! The AC outside my bedroom window has kept making a loud noise for one month, and my roommate and I cannot even fall asleep for the whole night! I asked leasing to fix this but one month passed, and still no progress. They said they would contact the maintenance group and give us feedback, but actually NEVER ANY FEEDBACK! They even cannot give us the day of when to fix it! Also, the maintenance group NEVER does anything! I submitted the maintenance request in September, and they told me they fixed it in Nov, but the PROBLEM IS STILL THERE! NO ONE CAME TO FIX IT! THREE MONTH! NO ONE! If you try to contact with leasing office, they promise they will fix it but NOTHING changes! They don’t care about how you live, they only care about if you renew the lease!
The AC noise problem is finally fixed in April which takes a total SEVEN MONTH!
Now the AC in my unit is broken and TWO MONTHs later, the problem is still there. Hopefully, they can fix this early, so that I won’t need to endure 83+ degrees in my room.
I believe the apartment has tried its best to solve this problem, although the problem is still there :(
Update: the problem is been solved after two months and a week. I wish there was no more trouble.
The leasing said they have purchased an extra compressor to avoid...
Read morePlease DON’T BELIEVE THE RATING if you are considering living here. Please read my review below. I sincerely hope that everyone would not be fooled. Thanks!
When I moved in, there were multiple wet towel lying in the washer, smelling really bad. One of my friends found a condom under her bed.
Since I have lived here for 6 months, the hallway of my floor smells like rotten food every day. The trash place inside the floor is suffocating. My floor-mates have complained about this for multiple times but got no improvement at all for 6 months. We have to throw the trash away by going outside the building.
We have been troubled by mice for several times. The pest control just came to spill the spray for 10 seconds and left. One day we received the warning from the manager saying that we didn’t keep our unit clean and threaten to incur the charge of cleaning fee. I came to the leasing office to ask for explanation of why the unit is too unclean to get such a harsh threat as our unit had already been tidied up reasonably. The manager scolded me harshly, saying that our unit is filthy, unsuitable for human beings living condition. They push all the blame of mice encountering to us, saying that it is all our fault to attract mice into the building and affect others. However, they never think that they have any responsibility for the cause of mice issue, such as the unbearable smell in the hallway. They never make any action to take their responsibility to make the public area clean.
The window in the bedroom cannot be sealed completely. It was freezing code as the cold air sneaked into the room.
The leasing office manager, named Grey, is rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. You can find similar comment on him in this Google review.
Many of my friends living in the building has been deeply disappointed and even offended. We are gathering the evidence and are considering filing a complaint via Philadelphia housing commission office. I have interacted with several leasing office and apartment managers throughout my college and career life but never expect to be offended, let alone the harshness of the offense. I would like to say thank you to all other staff in the leasing office for their helps and their kindness, but I cannot stand the situation anymore.
Thanks for reading my review. I hope this gives you a reference although this is my personal experience, but it is the fact that everyone I know living here (I know around 20 people here) has the same...
Read moreFirst of all the other reviews that are 3 months old are bogus since the Link University City didn't open to residents until Friday the 20th of September so I'm not really sure what they were reviewing. To be fair, the Link may SOME day be a very nice facility to live in but that won't be for quite some time. The apartments look like construction sites with appliances not hooked up, sheet rock dust all over the place, no blinds on windows, and MOST concerning to me is the total lack of security. There are surveillance cameras with plastic on them to keep construction debris from falling on them, the butterfly security system is not operational so the solution to that is to put some untrained person in a chair in the lobby of the front door. Upon leaving yesterday at 9:30 PM after traveling 2 hours with cleaning supplies to try to make the apartment livable, I spoke to the "Security" guy at the front door about checking ID's or credentials to make sure that people entering the building are residents or have legitimate business being there and he advised that he was never told to check anyones purpose for entering the building but that if a "crack head" walked in he would probably stop him. This is so over the top and unacceptable it defies words. When a commitment was signed 6 months ago, they sold a finished project that included a gym, gathering and social spaces like a rooftop lounge area, study rooms, breakfast location ect. At the rate of incompletion, my student who is living there will probably graduate before the amenities she was promised are finished. I believe they are so understaffed that they are hiring people off the street to help clean the mess in the apartments. They sent two guys to my students apartment and besides creating a bigger mess than they found, they spent most of the time they were there inviting the girls to a party in center city. A level of unprofessionalism like I have never experienced. I would hope that corporate would take these issues seriously and take a spare no expense attitude and get this project completed as it should have been before they allowed anyone to move in. I am willing to discuss these matters with anyone in a level of influence with the Link if there is any legitimate desire to make good on the promises that they sold to...
