As welcoming as I remember it being, fifteen years ago when I last visited, just as a church should be. I was delighted to see old friends there.

Worship at Philadelphia Cathedral is open in style, and with a freer form than you would find in any other Cathedral I know of. There is lots of moving around the space during the service.

Emphasis is placed on the equal status of everyone around the table, and on the fact that ministers, including the musical leaders, arise from among the people, not being separated from them by sitting in a different place.
