The SRT jas a new extension. Now stretching from the Art Museum area all the way into West Philly, this trail is a gem for riders, runners, walkers, and anyone who loves a good view. My husband and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoyed a scenic bike ride along the river. The path is smooth, well-maintained, and full of energy—from fitness enthusiasts to folks just out enjoying the day. Whether you’re into nature, people-watching, or breaking a sweat, the Schuylkill River Trail delivers. Highly recommend for a peaceful escape right in the city!

My favorite place for riding bike I've gone from the start in South Philly to as far as Phoenixville. Very well-maintained in Montgomery County

The paths are pretty decent for roller skates, and aside from that I've always loved a good walk or ride down Kelly drive. . An update... Be careful when it's crowded. Walkers don't pay attention to what's going on and Bikers, and other wheeled vehicles need to be very careful not to hit pedestrians or others wheeled vehicles.

I ride an electric longboard and a very arrogant biker who was not paying attention riding on the wrong side of the path after he tried to beat traffic crossing the street collided with me and then threaten to assault me even though he was clearly not following basic traffic rules "keep right pass left" . I'm lucky I had my go pro recording with proof of his error and verbal threats. I'm also lucky I didn't get assaulted or worse. The man was clearly mentally unstable and looking for a fight rather than any other form of resolution. . Also there is general maintenance on areas of the trail at times and they don't always put up cones or caution tape. I broke my wrist two months ago due to not seeing a garden hose laid across a path on my return trip down the new river trail. So be vigilant, be courteous, keep right pass left and there are LOTS of sightseers on certain areas with their heads in the clouds, AND it is a city with a high crime rate, so there are some aggressive not kind "self centered" folk looking for a reason to fight and criminals looking to rob folks at night mostly. Carry mace, or other personal protection devices on you if you plan to go walking or riding the trail alone... Thanks and ride, walk, ...

This looks like a really nice trail. I took a walk because I arrived a bit early for a dinner reservation at In Riva. Later I checked a map. The trail is really long. It would be fun to explore on a bicycle. If I can convince a friend to come with me it would be fun to ride from Valley Forge to Philadelphia, spend a night or two at an Airbnb downtown, and take then train back as far as it goes the next time day. I think the last train stop is a couple miles from Valley Forge, but it would be a short ride to the car I wonder if overnight parking is allowed at Valley Forge. If the Chester Valley Trail's planned segment to the Schuylkill River is ever completed, I could...
