I had their raspberry tart and mocha. My partner also went with a different pastry and a oat milk latte. Our total was $21 and some change which was a bit pricy. I found that they charge double what Starbucks does for oat milk alternative ($1.50). The raspberry tart was predominately an egg flour mixture (typical filler with an egg tart) and a very thin line of relatively flavorful raspberry jam. The berry taste was not prominent unless tasted on its own. But the tart had a good eggy taste and the not overly sweetened by the simple syrup coating which was decorated with almond slices. The mocha was made with what I though was a medium roast or espresso and the only option was a sweet chocolate. plenty of rich buttery foam but the sweet chocolate was stuck on the bottom. I wasnât able to have a mocha, instead I had a latte in the beginning and sickly sweet chocolate finish. Having them properly mixed would have been appreciated. And finally the cafe only provided disposable cups with plastic lids despite...
Read moreThis is for the new location in Tacony. I have tried them out on two separate occasions. Staff is very friendly and atmosphere is really cozy and cute featuring art from local artist, which I love. They are also đłď¸âđ friendlyâŚBUT the coffee and pastries đŠ. Both times I went I ordered iced coffees and both times they tasted like brown sugar water. I ordered a croissant and donut the first time I visited, it was shortly after they opened up for the day, the croissant tasted stale and dry, the donut was slightly better but still stale. The last time I tried a donut and it was stale again and the vanilla custard instead had hints of nutmeg, but was very bland and tasteless. It sucks to leave this review because I was so excited for them to open, but the quality of the food definitely does not match the price.
For reference coffeeâs I enjoy :La Colombe, Starbucks, Peetâs. Sometimes a cup of Dunkinâ. I like coffee that tastes...
Read moreWent in to grab 2 matches and a coffee. They didnât have any coffee made so he asked if an an Americano was fine, I said sure. However, it was watery and very weak. How do you not have any coffee made? Sure it was 1/2 hour before close but damn, youâre a coffee shop. The matchas were undrinkable. They tasted like 1/2 can of matcha powder was poured into them. I have never had such horrible matcha in all my life, and I go out for matcha often. I also got a bottle of water. After paying 17 and change for 2 small matcha and a water and an americano, only the water was enjoyable, which is truly sad. I could not go back as I was just just pit stopping through town on a long journey. Very disappointing. Also the building smells very moldy and the guy behind the counter was quite unfriendly and acted like he just wanted to leave and go home...
