There is a special kind of charm about this place. I was first happy to find out they had their own parking lot. What a plus! I also found out this theater has been running for 100 years! The audience space is very intimate. The seats are pretty close together, so it makes it hard to move around. I was sitting next to a grate in the wall and was distracted by noises from outside coming thru the duct work. Also, I was told by someone in the play that the 1st three rows are very close to the stage, so if possible, don't sit in them. There is an upstairs space for intermission and two bathrooms. Overall, this theater was a lovely experience, and so was the performance.

Great little Theatre, we saw "A Song I forgot to Sing", for me, it needed to be a little warmer(heat)but otherwise fantastic! The 3 Actresses were very good, and stayed in character throughout the show, very impressive! Thanks Again for a great afternoon!

A hidden gem in East Falls! Must check out this small, intimate theater space. Their shows are always well done and they have a full season year round of entertainment.

My family has been attending plays here for many years. Even though this is a community theater staffed by volunteers, you would never know it. The quality of the productions, acting, and sets are, in my opinion, of professional quality. In fact, I enjoy their performances even more than professional theater because I am always awestruck by how volunteers, who live full and busy lives, are able to put together so many tremendous shows throughout the year, with their sole motivation being a love and passion for what they do.

How is it possible that my family and friends find Old Academy Players a generally much more enjoyable experience than Philadelphia's downtown professional theaters? Not only are the plays given in a warm, friendly, attractive and intimate setting, but there is ample parking right in back of the building with no need to deal with the downtown parking hassles. On top of all this, the selection of plays they perform are usually fun and in good taste. All of this at just a fraction of the cost of professional theater: I'll take Old Academy Players every time...

Old Academy Players is Philadelphia’s little secret, a cozy corner where the magic of theater comes to life! It’s a place with a rich past, where stars like Grace Kelly once graced the stage, and where today’s talent shines just as brightly. Every show is a labor of love, a blend of tradition and fresh energy, where the community gathers not just to watch, but to experience stories that resonate with us all. Whether you’re in the audience or under the spotlight, Old Academy Players is where you’ll find the heart of East Falls beating to the rhythm of applause. So come on over, the curtain’s rising, and the next act is...
