I saw this place on the map and walked in off the street having seen some good reviews and never having been here. I ordered the Eggplant Parmiciana/Parmigiana Sandwich (I should have walked out when I saw they mistakenly wrote “Parmesan” on the menu tbh) and the Medium Cheese Pizza.
The food wasn’t seasoned, like at all. It didn’t even taste like they used salt in the pizza - a little bit in the dough at most. The pizza was also very undercooked but maybe they expect customers will finish cooking it in our home ovens so it can be freshly cooked at home. The fried eggplant tasted like other things that had been fried in the oil. They toasted the bread and fried the eggplant very well though, which were redeeming aspects of the meal.
Although one other staff member greeted me at the door, the red haired man at the register seemed to have a discriminatory judgmental attitude when I asked a clarifying question about the menu. I didn’t see any slices listed on the menu so I thought maybe this was supposed to be an ironic pizzeria. I asked, laughing, if this is a place called “Slices” that doesn’t sell slices.
He gave a disjointed response, seemingly with an attitude, that they were almost closing so that’s why they didn’t have many slices out on display. I didn’t ask about that so it was a confusing response and I hadn’t even been past the register so I didn’t see that they had anything on display, and like I said I knew almost nothing about this place beforehand. It just seemed like he judged me based on how I look, unless he treats everyone this way. If he doesn’t treat everyone this way, why else did he single me out other than something that can be perceived visually? We had no prior interaction.

Read moreHad such a weird experience last week. My school gets catering from Slices regularly. They make good pizza, let’s start with that because I want to be completely fair.
Last week I ordered a pizza for myself, parked outside, and my girlfriend went in to pick it up. They were really backed up and we had to wait about 40-45 mins for the pizza after calling ahead — then we found out we didn’t get the right pizza. We ordered and paid for half supreme half Hawaiian, but got half cheese half Hawaiian. Oh well, I’m still not even too bothered by it. I understand mistakes happen and pizza places get busy.
So why the 2 stars? Because their driver cursed me out. While waiting in the car for my pizza, this guy in a blue SUV parked in front of me, he backed up so quick and so close to my car, I gave him a little beep to let him know I was there so we both could avoid a bad situation. One beep, half a second long. Nothing aggressive. He then stepped out of the car and started taunting me “you good man? Got a problem?” My gf’s mother was in the car with me so I said nope I just thought you were gonna hit my car. He walked away and when he got back with the pizza delivery bag, he stopped by my car again and started to mouth off again. Cursed me out, called me a Motherbleep. Drove away. Nice. First time I have ever been cursed out as a customer!
I understand — his job is sooo much more important than driving safely. Truly a hero. Such a tough guy too. I’m sure he loves his job.
Everyone else I’ve met at Slices have been so so nice and polite. And I hate posting a negative review on a business. But this guy ruined Slices for me. I’m going to talk to the student board about our...
Read moreNEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN The level of disrespect just given over the phone was a little too much. Customer (myself) called to order a pizza with the magnetic program (save 8 get a large pizza); and was told the deal wasn't being honored due to COVID-19, unable to accept... So you can take my cash give me cash back (from whoever) but can not honor your program... I can show you the 8 pieces you can sanitize/clean/throw away and keep it moving (its NOT paper) but in this pandemic you have chosen to charge up customers to avoid honoring the deal. The fact that the person on the phone got nasty with a whole attitude telling me I work for a nursing agency and I should understand was a little bit too much for me to continue to be a long time customer supporting a business that not supporting customers in this terrible time but instead just trying to get the highest buck. We should NOT forget how business is being handle in this pandemic and to give that same energy back once life as we...
