My husband and I pay renters insurance, and our power was out for a few days. It’s below freezing, food went bad, we have a young daughter and 2 fur babies. I called on a Saturday to get help, was told someone would give me a call back ASAP… no call. But hey, I’ll get an email letting me know that money will be taken out of my account. Don’t worry my husband and I got it under control. Edit, since I’m not sure there is away to directly reply back to the owners. You might want to get your system checked out then. Or hire new people. Here is my cell phone record, showing that I called twice (see highlighted). As I said, I spoke to someone and was told someone would call me back ASAP and no one did. Thanks for being reliable REGARDLESS if you cover power outages or not. It’s nice to know my family is in good hands!

I am beyond frustrated with Philadelphia Contributionship and Mark1 restoration.

This started in May after the storm when we had our roof evaluated by a local trusted roofer because of the large amount of storm damage that occurred to most homes in our neighborhood as well as the surrounding area. It was determined by the certified hail specialist that the roof indeed has damage caused by hail including on the soft metal ridge vent as well as the flashing.

I made a claim and I was told that a representative from Mark1 Restoration would be out. Within 2 weeks they were out. I made multiple followup calls to Philadelphia Contributionship in July and August after not hearing anything. Several people were on vacation during these attempts including Todd and his boss.

My first return call was from Mark1 Restoration offices asking what I needed and if I wanted to schedule the roof replacement. I was confused as to why my return call was coming from them and not the insurance company. I told her I was still waiting to hear back from the insurance company.

It was finally determined that the restoration company dropped the ball and never reported back to the insurance company, apparently the employee that did the evaluation was no longer with the company. In my opinion Philadelphia Contributionship also dropped the ball by not following up on an outstanding claim for MONTHS!

I was eventually contacted by Mark Rosier from Mark1 restoration who said he would be out in 4 days. It rained, he said he would then be out later in the week. 1 month...not week....1 MONTH after he initially made contact with me and 5 Months after I filed the claim he finally showed up and inspected the roof.

He later reported to the insurance company in an email saying no damage had occurred and then telling Todd from PC Attached is the Hail inspection report with photos for the Michael and Jylana Thomas claim in Glen Rock for your review. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I am sure this will be an uphill battle with this homeowner because 3 of his neighbors received new roofs.

Since then over 12 roofs have been replaced in the neighborhood including directly across the street and right next to me...all insurance approved claims due to the storm that did so much damage to the area.

I had the roofer come out again after the initial decline and do additional plotting. He again showed the soft metal damage, the hail dimples, etc. in great detail.

I find it interesting that the insurance company and restoration company is saying the issue is because my roof is a 16 to 17 year old roof when the home is only 14 years old at time of inspection, that doesn't add up.

So it looks like Mark Rosier was correct, but in this case it has been an uphill battle for me as the client not the insurance company. I am sitting here over 7 months after filing a claim and getting declined not because of my timeline but because of a poorly managed branch of Mark1 restoration company and an insurance company that continuously dropped the ball, didn't follow up on my claim, and drug this out for a very extended period of time.

In addition, I no longer recommend my in house insurance broker at work because they continue to carry this company and declined multiple requests to ask Philadelphia Contributionship to at least get a second opinion. If that is how they allow their clients to be treated after an experience like this I certainly don't want them helping my...

UPDATE I have one additional update. Michele & team really turned it around. The second opinion did end up finding damage, and they were very prompt with the entire process. Although the beginning was very rocky, I will say the ending was much better. We were treated respectfully and were informed right away with the remaining steps in the process. I am adding one more star since I do feel that Michele did take feedback & took steps to fix issues that were called out.

UPDATE I just wanted to give a slight update to this review. I am increasing from 1 to 3 stars because the company did call back to give a second opinion after I complained on google, directly to them and through the insurance agent. Sadly, it took all of what was below to get to this point, but it would be unfair to not acknowledge this. Michele was also much friendlier on the phone this time around.

ORIGINAL Save yourself the trouble and please just pay more for the better insurance company. We thought we would save some money and go with the cheapest rate. We could not be more sorry and we sure learned this lesson the hard way. Our entire neighborhood had a hail storm with severe hail damage. Every other neighbor with companies like State Farm and Erie have had 0 problems filing a claim and getting it approved. They sent an adjuster from Boyer & Pentek who was the rudest and most unprofessional person I had ever met in my life. He refused to even look for hail damage, refused to answer questions and was literally walking to his truck as I was trying to ask him for general information to better understand the process. He couldn't get out of here fast enough. We provided additional photos that were undeniable proof from my contractor, and Michele Robinson still refused to approve a second opinion. I never write bad reviews (you can check my history and know that I'm a pretty positive person - I even raved about a sandwich lol) and have never filed a claim during my entire home ownership thus far, but this experience has deserved one. It was impossible to get her to call back ever. I called multiple times a day for a week and left messages with 0 response. I had to email her in which I would get these one worded answers and not hear back for days and days. All I wanted was a second opinion from someone who did not immediately discount myself or my contractor before even looking at the roof. I was even willing to let the company choose. If the second person would have said there was no damage then ok, we move on; however, my contractor had visible proof that was just undeniable. I just can't understand the push back for a second opinion. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable request to me? So, again save yourself the trouble and spend the extra 100.00! You'll thank me later! I am sure there are other people at this company that are great, but I unfortunately did not get one of...

I had a house fire in January 3, 2020. The agent did send a check out for being put out of my home on January 8th, 2020. Since then I have submitted receipts for what was purchased. I have actual cost value. SO i sent the receipts in so I can get the remainder back. I have an extremely hard time getting the checks. My contractor said my damage was $220,000 and they had to wait a month to get $110,000 just to start the job. Now they are almost completed and still have not sent out another payment. The mortgage company is even calling me and asking me if another check has been mailed out for the contractor. Being they have to put it in escrow. On my personal belongings I was told we will make this as painless as possible. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! I have 3 children, a dog, and a husband who travels. We went a month with out our pet. Then we got a rental house. I have to call the insurance adjuster and ask where everyone's money is and try to stay on top of them as well as the contractor. The first company who came out was DRS and this is the company my insurance adjuster said to call. They were a complete joke.

We will be moving into our house this weekend with no kitchen. The house we were renting sold. So I started to buy everything we need. I sent in over $18,000 in receipts and some of that is fully reimbursements and the rest is getting the actual cost back. The adjuster had me make a spread sheet with everything that was lost and put the cost to replace it. Then sent me some money and I asked for the break down so I knew if I was getting the right amount back or not. Still haven't received that either. I have sent my adjuster emails after emails and what I get is you should have your check next week. It has been 4 weeks that I should of had some sort of check. Now that I spent all the money they sent me plus some I have to get a washer and dryer lower quality then what I had. because of waiting for the money. I emailed the adjuster yesterday and he said Ill call you tomorrow to go over what is owed to you. So I guess he has yet to put the request to make a check out to me yet. It's always the same thing you will have a check next week. I should not have to keep on them to do their jobs. Also Philadelphia does not do direct deposit so you have to wait a week or two to even get your money.

I would love to have a detail list of what they paid out and have what I sent in paid out to me. It's so hard to do this and work full time with a family. Once everything is all said and done I will update my review and we will see if anything has changed. I also have all the emails to back...
