Nature, the innkeeper, is AMAZING! She is so nice, helpful, and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic and fresh each day (the breakfast area is absolutely darling and well maintained by Nature with loads of options. They offer a glass of wine and cookies each night which is so nice. Music plays in the main room at night and is a welcoming, comforting touch and adds well to the ambience. If you’re in Philadelphia for historical stuff, the location is absolutely perfect and easily helps you maximize limited museum hours by being such a short walk to everything. Some of the furnishings are a bit dated (sadly not in the charming, antique colonial way) but the price and location make it doable. My room came with a fan (I’m assuming every room does) and that’s easily my favorite amenity of any stay, at any place, ever 😂 The fan was great for providing air circulation and blocking out late night traffic noise. My room overlooked Welcome Park, adding to the charm of my stay. If I could request one thing (I understand the logistics of it could be difficult) is that they insert a mini fridge of some sort where guests can buy cold bottled water. I plan to visit Philadelphia again to see more historical sites and will definitely stay at Thomas Bond again. Thanks again to Nature for such a wonderful stay!

Even though it was too brief, this was one of the most memorable stays I've ever enjoyed. Craig was such a welcoming host from the very first moment, as well as the rest of the staff and the little tabby cat George. The beauty of the building is just insane; you feel instantly transported to another world. The rooms were incredible (we chose the Thomas Bond, Jr. Suite), their history beautifully maintained without sacrificing on more modern comfort. There were wine and cookies in the evenings, and the delicious breakfast (hot on weekends) was such a plus with a full day ahead. We came to Philly planning mostly to eat out and about, and the breakfast really held its own to the rest of the food we ate in town. We were treated like guests even after checking out, leaving our luggage while we explored for the day and even enjoying some wine and cookies for a bit before leaving to catch our evening train. Really such an old-school sense of hospitality to complete the package. Philly was already one of my favorite cities, and I can't wait to go back, but now I know that I couldn't possibly stay anywhere other than the Thomas Bond House. Thanks, Craig! 10/10.

Beautiful accommodations in a great area of the city. Very close parking and close to many areas of interest. So close to the riverfront and ferry services to Camden, this was a great advantage. The inn upgraded us to a stunning suite, the Dr Thomas Bond Sr Room 301. The cost of the stay was surprisingly low for how beautiful the property is and everything included. The amenities offered were everything needed to have a quaint, cozy stay. We were offered complimentary wine and warm cookies, along with breakfast. The staff was absolutely lovely and so friendly. It is clear they really love the property and their jobs. I can't wait to go back in the colder months and take advantage of the beautiful gas fireplace in the suite. This will definitely be our new regular place to stay when visiting Philly.

We are very overdue in writing a review for the Thomas Bond House, as we have now stayed there 6 times within the past 2 years. We are incredibly grateful to Craig and his staff at this perfect inn in Old City. Our daughter began treatment at Shriner's Philly in 2020. I believe our first visit to TBH was in August of that year, and we have returned every 4-6 months or so since, including a week-long stay when she had surgery in July of 2021. Only one parent was allowed to stay overnight in the hospital with her, so one of us stayed at TBH and traveled back and forth.

The inn is comfortable and historic with period furnishings and decor. We have stayed in several of the rooms, including the larger suites and have found them cozy and comfortable. We have really enjoyed the early evening wine hour before heading out to dinner. It's an opportunity to meet and talk with other guests, as well as Craig and his staff. Craig is full of information about the city and neighborhood and is great about making recommendations. So much is within walking distance, but Ubers are available at the front door in about 5 minutes. Fresh baked cookies are waiting for guests at the end of the evening, which was a big hit for our daughter. Craig would often ask for her favorite kind in advance of our stay.

And let's talk about George. George needs her own paragraph. George is Craig's cat and the inn's sort-of mascot. She's friendly and welcoming, playful and funny. She knows to stay away during breakfast, but she comes when called and will enjoy jumping into your shopping bag. George has added an extra bit of comfort for our daugter, who looks forward to seeing her every time we visit.

Craig and the team have navigated all of the changing mandates due to the pandemic to maintain a safe and comfortbale environment for all. They take into account dietary needs for breakfast and always put out a nice spread. We cannot say enough about TBH! Craig and his team have given us a home away from home during a stressful time for us as a family. TBH is largely the reason our daughter has handled her treatment and surgery with such ease and resilience. We thank them from the bottom...

My wife and I stayed at the Thomas Bond House for three nights in June while we visiting Independence National Historic Park and took in as many of the sites as we could.||First things first: this is a very old colonial house and stairs are involved, along with smaller bathrooms than most modern folks are used to. If that's not your style, don't stay here. It is NOT a modern hotel. There is no bellhop.||It is our style, though; we love these old places. It's a beautifully decorated house. On the first floor there's a lovely parlor and a dining area for breakfast. There's a nice wine happy hour that starts at 5:30 PM and we enjoyed that in the parlor.||We had the Dr. Thomas Bond, Jr. Room on the second floor. This room has a spacious sitting area and a very nice bed, and a functional but small bathroom. The bathroom and shower are a bit dated but worked fine. The bed is very comfortable but very high, with a small stepstool at the foot to help anyone who may need it. This may be a red flag if you aren't overly mobile.||It was very hot when we visited (94 to 96 degrees) but the A/C was more than adequate; in fact, we had to turn it to low. Although our room faced the street, the street noise was pretty negligible and did not disturb us.||Breakfasts during the week are continental, but were adequate for us: fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels and sweets, juice, coffee. Parking is as advertised, at Autopark at Olde City right next door. This was very convenient. The garage was easily accessible and has good elevators; once at street level it is probably only 100 feet to the entrance of the Thomas Bond House. We left our car parked for the duration.||The staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating.||This lodging is extremely convenient for Independence National Historic Park and all of the sites in the Old City you can see. We walked everywhere and I don't think we had to walk more that 15 to 20 minutes to the farthest site. There are numerous restaurants in the area.||In sum, if you like historic lodgings and want to be within walking distance of Old Philadelphia,...
