I was in this hospital from hell for 4 days..... The picture below are the stains on the floor I saw the first day I was there, they were still there for days later. On the second day my urine bottle slipped and hit the floor some spilled out they cleaned it up by wiping it with a towel and throwing it in the trash. no disinfecting no mopping no cleaning of any kind was done for the entire 4 days. I never saw a mob Hit the floor anywhere ! There was ZERO sanitation at no point was anything ever cleaned or wiped down in the entire 4 days I was there on the entire first floor . there was one woman that came around with a large swifter type dust mop that got the big areas. Amazingly the patient aids and nurses are emptying the trash cans. and here's a news flash for you just changing your gloves and putting some disinfectant on your hands does not keep you from transferring things from your clothes in the trash to your patients. There were nurses that were taking baths in their cologne, constant interruptions at night, doors being thrown open, alarms going off that weren't even hooked anything , lights being left on.... did I mention that I and the person in the room with me were there for Hypertension ?!?! explained to the nurse that the very problem I was in there for was being made worse by the way they were running their hospital. I was told to stay in bed and use the urinal bottle, after I used it each time they were just dump it out, no rinsing no disinfecting. Consequently every time I wanted to use it my hands were covered with my own old urine and I had to use a hand wipe left over from the meal. The dirty urine covered bottles are then hung on the side of the medical equipment! This would be considered dirty and unsanitary even buy cheap motel standards!! Then early one morning someone came in for a blood draw, an hour later someone came in again for a blood draw. I told him he'd just been done and even showed them the cotton swab and tape still on my arm. They said no you didn't have a blood draw schedule that wasn't done , I insisted it was and showed them again where it was done, they had no record of it so they drew my blood again. come to find out the person that had taken it the first time took it from the wrong person, he thought it was the guy next to me so he put his name on it and sent my blood to the lab with my roommates name on it. I finally discovered that when the guy next to me's doctor came in and told him they were going to have to draw blood again because suddenly he didn't have the problem he had before, and his blood was fine. That's when I figured out what happened and told him about it, they had a bit of a laugh! I had one Doctor who had me on a low sodium restricted diet in the kitchen, I had another doctor giving me sodium pills and telling me to put salt on my food because I had low sodium!!!!! absolutely no coordination between the doctors giving me treatment. There is no excuse for this incredible disregard for patient safety!! Contamination was everywhere there is not even an attempt to clean the contact / transfer surfaces. I'm in my 70s and I've had my share of medical situations, this by far was absolutely the worst experience , and the filthiest conditions I've ever seen in any medical facility!!!!

On April 1, 2025, our younger brother was admitted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Upon our arrival, we were informed by a chaplain named Todd that our brother will not survive. He advised us to take him off life support, as his injuries would cause swelling that could lead to a heart attack. Shockingly, no surgery was performed even though his parents were informed it was, and for four days, they kept him in the same bandages without disinfecting the wound to prevent infection. Additionally, the hospital staff did not realize he was a minor until the second day, which should have changed the process significantly. Proper care for a minor includes pediatric specialists and specific tests, none of which were provided until the third day of his stay. Throughout this process, as a family, we expressed our desire to continue fighting for our brother’s life and keep him on life support. Despite our wishes, the staff continually pressured us to remove him from life support. We had multiple questions, but the doctors were unable to provide clear answers. When we requested a neurosurgeon, we were told one would be available, but they never came. The more we asked questions and voiced our concerns, the stricter the hospital staff became with visitation policies, monitoring us closely and limiting how many people could visit at any given time. When the hospital tried to pronounce our brother deceased, even though his vitals were stable, all of our family members were present in support. One staff member, as shown in the attached photo, began to exhibit aggressive behavior. She expressed frustration with the number of people in the hallway and asked us to leave. When we explained we had just arrived and were looking for a place to sit, she became even more upset, especially when we requested a neurosurgeon again. Rather than offering sympathy, she yelled at us and set a limit of four visitors, despite the fact that there were ten chairs put in the room for everyone to come in. Her actions were unprofessional, and she became increasingly disrespectful. Ultimately, she kicked us out of the hospital, even those who were not directly involved in the situation. To make matters worse, the nurses deliberately concealed their badges when we asked for their names, and we were either ignored or dismissed when we requested them. We attempted to call the emergency room, only to have the calls disconnected multiple times. We urge others to carefully consider this hospital before trusting them with the care of their loved ones. Based on our experience, we felt that our family’s needs were disregarded, and we were not treated with the compassion and professionalism that we expected during such a critical time.

I would recommend this hospital for its neurological unit & ICU. Every staff member I encountered was super friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. My mom had 2 back surgeries, the 2nd not going as smoothly as the 1st but she pulled through. The entire campus is well maintained & kept & they were in the process of many improvements mid April when we were there. I ate there several times & was quite impressed with how much they offer in the cafeteria as well as quality & freshness. I dared to consume a pre-made egg salad sandwich & was pleasantly surprised. They carefully & intelligently pack these sandwiches, so no sogginess! And while the egg salad was a lil bland & could use a lil seasoning, it was not bad & definitely fresh. They offer vegetarian options. The 2 bean tostada meal is a great deal & enough to share with another person. Gift shop has a lot of cute stuff & of course it's overpriced but all proceeds go to the hospital so that's good. I also noticed it seems like this campus is aware that sometimes people have to wait around hospitals for extended periods of time & there is lots of confortable seating throughout the hospital as well as within the patients rooms. This campus is conveniently located & easy to get to. I really have no complaints about this hospital. If you enjoyed this review or found it helpful, PLEASE, give it a LIKE!

My husband was unfortunately in an accident and was brought to this horrible hospital by Phx Fire Dept and the whole time he was there was less that subpar. My husband was a trauma patient and was in the trauma bay until admitted. I completely understand HIPPA and patient rights and responsibilities and the fact that I wasn’t able to back in ER to be with him while all tests and procedures were preformed to figure out his injuries. While waiting 5+ hrs in the ED lobby, Main entrance lobby and cafeteria I contacted ED several times to check on the status of my husband because I knew nothing that was going on. One of the times I called they gave me the wrong information and about gave me a panic attack, telling me my husband was going against medical advice and leaving hospital. Thank God that wasn’t true. However every time I called they had no record of my husband even though he was there! My husband was admitted to the neuro trauma icu unit and it wasn’t until the next day that they found another injury that was not found the day before in ED Trauma bay, on top of all that after we found out he didn’t need surgery he was immediately being discharged that day. Not even a full 24 hrs of being admitted. While there I did bring our son and was at hospital for over 2 hours before I was told he could be there and that there were signs all over hospital saying so. I did not notice them at all nor did one single nurse DR or hospital staff tell me so when walking though the entire hospital. Once leaving I did notice laminated pieces of regular sized paper with small typing on it staying this. Word of advice Banner, GET BIG VISIBLE SIGNS. People can’t see nor will they pay attention to small print especially when you have a loved one in the hospital which can be uncertain, nervous scared and anxious situation. As I said my husband was discharged with less than 24 hrs of being admitted and not sent home with any paperwork for his two jobs as he is unable to even preform any of his work duties and obtaining one from the attending DR for him is finding itself to be difficult. We have already called twice. The first call we explained we needed documentation he was in the hospital and needs to be out of work and was told someone would call us back. Maybe an hour or so later we had a missed call but no voicemail so we decided to call back and this time was told they can’t give us the note and we need to call the surgeon we are supposed to f/u with in 8 week. I’m sorry but no, there is a system in play in which you should be able to send a message to the attending DR and they can respond with said documentation. As someone who works in the medical this is all extremely unprofessional and unsatisfactory for the patient and/or family. We have called the DR my husband is due to follow up with to request documentation for his work but do also need the same from the attending DR for the time he was in hospital until he can have f/u or note from surgeons office. Not even all my husbands diagnosis's were included in the discharge paperwork.

on top of all this there is no where to park every time I came to the hospital unless you want to pay ($12 all day.. wound up having to spend $24 to park and be there for my husband who is suffering) for a parking in the garage and then they don’t even validate your parking ticket unless you’re being discharged, had surgery / procedure or are there for maternity related purposes.

I will say that while we were there for the most part the staff was attentive and caring but still things “slipped”...

The neurosurgeons were great, Banner University rehab Tecs were great, most of the nurses were great, however I asked for a stronger pain medicine and the night doctor today September 12th gave me ibuprofen. I'm on blood thinners but I realize that since I got back in the hospital on September 4th they have been not giving me my blood thinners. And then the fact that he was going to prescribe me ibuprofen tells me he did not read my chart. This is very disappointing. I've had two bilateral dvts and a pulmonary embolism. So if I get another pulmonary embolism because they did not give me the medication or read my file correctly, it won't be pretty, not at all. The rehab doctor over at Banner rehab, Dr jung literally came in for 30 seconds to 1 minute a day. My son jumped in because number one I was hallucinating and throwing up all the time. They had to take me out of two classes. My son asked how long has she been like this, like hallucinating and the nurses said nonchalantly oh about 3 or 4 days, so my son pulled me out and had them re-admit me to the hospital. Which is what they said would happen if I got sick over at the rehab. The rehab should have suggested it once I started hallucinating. But back to Dr jung after my son jumped in, the very next day there were three doctors and they talked to me for about 10 minutes. I have a had to ask for the charge nurse three times or four times, I finally asked for the charge doctor who did come to see me fairly quickly. But being off blood thinners is a high risk for me or anyone who needs them. I am very disappointed in parts of the care I received. I'm still waiting 3 hours for medication I need, I needed it at 5:00 p.m. it's almost 8:00 p.m. and I don't have it. Because my blood pressure was too low, but there are medications they can give you to bring it up so they called the doctor and he says he doesn't want to do that right now. Why in the hell I need the other medication because it stops me from going blind and it stops my tremors. I don't know why he would not give me the medication to bring my blood pressure up and he's the one who's going to prescribe me the ibuprofen. Which I absolutely cannot take. My oncologist who actually prescribes you the blood thinners said on my first appointment that I will have to be on them the rest of my life. So yes I am quite disappointed. The medication I needed at 5:00 I didn't get and I'm starting to shake and shake in my blindness is coming back, blurry vision double vision to stay that way for a while and then I'll get normal vision and then all the blurry vision and all that will come back. It tells me when the doctor tried to give me ibuprofen that he didn't mean my charge. And I do not know why he wouldn't give me one of the many medications to bring my blood pressure back up. Be careful when you come here. I'm still waiting on the charge nurse but it's Friday night September 12th 2025 and I am in room 957 bed one if get a pulmonary embolism and it travels to my head and kills me, it will not be pretty my son will go to the ends of the Earth to tell everybody and to sue the hell out of this Hospital I'm still waiting on my medication from 5:00 p.m. and the night doctor here refused to give me the medication to bring my blood pressure up I don't know why it has only delayed my medication that was due at 5:00 p.m. I am very very upset let's rather say pissed I am still waiting for the charge...
