Stopped by SUNDAY the 5th for a little desert aftet the game. Pulled up and noticed a fair amount of cars parked at the stations, and then noticed a long line for the drive thru. Figured we'd give it a few and see how fast it would go.
While waiting started to hear car horns honking and ppl hollering. Then cars driving off. Come to find out the employees that night decided to not work the drive thru. They weren't answering or taking orders.
Ppl were driving off completely or pulled up to let the employees know. They still wouldn't take any orders. I was now up at the speaker so rather then honk or yell...i called the store and after several rings someone answered.
I asked him what was going on and how come they aren't taking orders. Originally he could hear me just fine...but then after telling him i was at the window trying to order he started having phone connection issues. I told him to quit playing games and start working. He apologized and came up on the speaker.
He took my order with no problem which indicated no issues with the speaker or system. Again, not sure why the drive thru wasn't working prior to my phone call.
After pulling forward and parking to wait for our order... We realized it was taking awhile for our order to come out. We ended up ordering 3 #1's and substituted the sodas for 2 watermelon creme slushes and a strawberry banana shake. No special orders or anything other then the way each item comes off the menu. So not really understanding the delay. I know when waiting the time seems to drag. Everything is exaggerated, but this time it really took a longtime. I didn't really notice til realizing we've been waiting long enough to hear 4/5 songs from the radio about average lengthds, 3-4 mins each.
The employee came to deliever food, and naturally i asked what the deal was. Especially about the drive thru. She was snappy with her answer and said that some ppl were having issues hearing on it so they were taking orders when they pulled up.
We got home and started to eat..what do you know? Our burgers were cold. Tots were luke warm at best and we live only 5 mins away. Everytime I've been to this sonic I've never had any major issues. Worst issue was a lil delay or wait. Nothing as bad as this. I hope this isn't signs of things to come. Hopefully a one...
Read moreWent there to pick up 2 online orders. The first one came out right away, and the server said she'd be right back with the second. It was 15m to close, so I get that they might be busy. Also, this is why we placed our orders 30 minutes before closing instead of pulling up with a huge order 15m to close. After 10 min, I noticed they were mopping floors, so I hit the buzzer to ask where the order was, and the guy replies, "It'll be right out." After another 10 minutes (past closing now), some lady comes out to tell me that there are no orders waiting for pick up. Never mind, my first order is cold by now, and my shake is melting, but why would you WASTE MY TIME sitting in your parking lot for 20 minutes, KNOWING there was no order??? If they had simply said that SOONER...LIKE IMMEDIATELY, and BEFORE they closed, I could have simply placed a new order. Instead, they were more concerned with closing and NOT customer service. What else should you expect from these people, right???
To the franchise owner: you might want to speak to your staff and let them know that your operating hours are a responsibility and not a suggestion. If that server had gone back in and asked about the order and no such order existed, why not just TELL ME so we can fix the situation? Instead, you have inconvenienced me and my co-workers. We work in the 13- story hospital just down the street from you btw and we run a LOT of nite orders to you. But I am done. We rarely have the luxury of time to make it out for food, but the next time this happens and someone suggests your store, know that there's now quite a few of us who will be sharing last night's experience instead and suggesting the McDonald's across the street because at a 24hr location we won't have to worry about their employees needing to...
Read moreI waited 15 minutes at a car hop parking spot at 748 E McDowell Road Sonic. Never was helped so I backed out and went to the drive-thru where I waited an additional 30 minutes with cars piling behind me and leaving while I'm honking my horn waiting for service at this particular Sonic it was 10 p.m. October 2nd 2018 I finally pulled around to try and flag down the car hop with the headset on and she ignored me so I pulled into another parking spot and push the famous red button for service and waited 5 minutes and got nothing finally I see another car hop and I asked them is the system working? Are you working? Is anything or anybody here working? And all she said was yeah and I said I've been waiting almost an hour to get serviced and so has all these other people and people have drove off with nothing here I wasted an hour of my life and still left with nothing and no resolve. She didn't try to fix it all she said was please go through the drive-thru and I'll help you. Help me? There's no way I want food from you guys now and so I left and I tried to call the establishment to complain and get her name it was a female co-worker of Sonic with a headset on who did nothing to resolve the issue an hour of my life down the drain and still left with nothing to show for it. absolutely horrible service I hope the franchisee owner whoever owns this Sonic fires her because that is horribly bad for business as several cars left the line because it was taking so long to even be acknowledged in...
