Ocotillo Library & Workforce Literacy Center — Attraction in Phoenix

I recently visited the library in search of a quiet place to focus and get some work done, as I had a similar experience at my previous college library, which was spacious and peaceful. However, when I arrived at this library, I found the space to be quite small and mostly filled with computers and desks. I asked a staff member if there were any additional tables available (away from people ) , but I was told there were not. The environment felt a bit crowded, and unfortunately, it was louder than I had hoped. There was also a noticeable presence of children, which made it harder to concentrate. I understand that libraries serve a variety of purposes, but I was hoping for a quieter atmosphere. Additionally, I felt a bit unsettled by the staff member who kept walking in front of me. While I appreciate the efforts of the staff and the services the library offers, I don’t think this location is the best fit for what I need in terms of a peaceful place to study. Headphones or not. This ancient relic of a near forgotten time still stands as a defiant symbol against the digital age. Where books are still made of papyrus(paper). They also havent prehistoric discs that are presumed to be some sort of game based upon the weaponry of the ancients' forefathers. I cannot say enough about how welcoming the staff is at this library. I came in with a print job and I came in only with a debit card and I had about $.50 and so I didn’t think that was going to be enough but Presse assured me it would be enough & then helped me navigate a scan & print job. I think she just saw that I needed help & she did this with kindness which is what I really needed. I’ve had a recent death in my family & I was submitting the documents to obtain a travel I’d.
