I've had a place here since June '24. I have waited to give this review. Overall this place deserves 5 stars. The staff across the board have been wonderful. I've had interactions with security, maintenance, upkeep, and management staff, and they've all been great. There are people working on my building's upkeep 7 days a week! I've put in about 5 maintenance requests and they've all been handled quickly. The units are quite sound proofed from other units. I am in the 7140 building facing west so I have very little road noise. I did stay in the 7160 building facing Kierland Blvd and there were issues with noise in the morning and on weekend nights (lots of exotic car and motorcycle owners flexing around here). So I think you have to choose, in a way, between a view and noise reduction. The amenities are fantastic. I use most of them as much as possible. I've toured or stayed in all but the 7180 building. The gyms are great. I really like the rooftop walk in my building. The golf sim is good. The basketball courts are nice. I own a house on land in another state and while that has its benefits, I really like just having a place I can come where everything is dialed. I can use the Optima app to book a cleaner while I'm gone, my cars are secured in the garage, etc. It's great. I've really enjoyed the events. I've had some great networking with other tenants and I'm impressed by the tenant / owner makeup in the complex. People are very friendly and neighborly and I've made some good business contacts or at least been inspired by other professionals. People here are either striving to "make it," or they already did, so there's a feeling of happy synergy. As alluded to above, the make up of tenants varies from the young and ambitious to elderly and, as I can only imagine, very successful in life and career as it is not inexpensive to live here. I have met some people who bought houses and ended up renting in my building because the community is so good compared to living in a more isolated subdivision house. The 7140 and to an even greater extent, the 7160 seem a little more quiet than the 7190 building. I have used the amenities at all hours of all days and never felt like they were crowded. Often times they aren't even being used, which lends to a sense of "owning" these awesome spaces even though there are many occupants. Our son was able to participate in the easter egg hunt party last weekend which includes some super heroes, a face painter, balloon guy, lunch, and prizes. I've stayed in a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels around the world and I've owned a number of homes. The Optima Kierland is my favorite place of them all so far. I do have a few niggles, though: If you're a dog owner, this is a great place for that as far as apartments go, I think. I love animals but don't have any due to having to travel a lot for business. In the warmer months, there is a lot of doggy pee happening around the grounds and it can be smelled, despite staff going around constantly to treat the beds. The smell doesn't get into my unit or anything, but as I walk the courtyard, I can smell it on hot days, which isn't something I appreciate for the price I pay for exclusive living. I also have a very good sniffer, so there's that--it's a curse really. There are some other tiny issues, so I can't give them a 100/100, but I'd say a 95/100, which still makes it unbeatable. This place just...

My recent experience touring the Optima Kierland apartments left me completely disappointed and frankly disgusted. Upon entering the apartment, I was immediately hit with an overpowering and repulsive odor that I can only describe as a mix of old gym socks and mold. It was as if they hadn't bothered to air out the place in weeks. The fact that they would showcase an apartment in such a state is beyond comprehension.
What's even more outrageous is the exorbitant pricing they have the audacity to ask for. A simple 2-bedroom apartment is being offered at an astonishingly high rate, well over $5000 per month. While I recognize that Scottsdale is known for its luxury, demanding over $5000 a month for rent is akin to New York City prices. What's even more concerning is that none of the amenities that Optima boasts about seem remotely justified at this exorbitant rate.
My astonishment didn't stop at the state of the property and its pricing. The unprofessionalism of the management and staff further compounded my negative experience. Barbie Clemons, the manager, and Megan Hernandez from HR displayed a remarkable level of apathy and unresponsiveness. I reached out regarding potential employment opportunities, only to be led on with vague promises and zero follow-up.
It's baffling how a company that can't even treat potential employees with respect and professionalism could be trusted to handle residents' concerns and issues. If they can't find the decency to respond to job inquiries, how can they be relied upon to address complaints from paying residents? The disregard for basic communication standards is telling of the kind of organization Optima Kierland is.
In conclusion, my experience with Optima Kierland was deeply disappointing on multiple fronts. From the deplorable condition of the apartments to the unprofessionalism of the management, it's clear that this establishment is not worthy of anyone's time, let alone their hard-earned money.
TL;DR Don’t waste your time or money here. Way better, cheaper, and more pleasant choices within a half a...
Read more8 days since I wrote my review.. it has been a every day (evening) disturbance of smoking lingering in my unit. Seems like someone new moved in and this is their schedule. As of management doing anything… new manager Jamie accidentally replied all asking if the other person in office replied to us and no one has responded since out of them both.. this is how optima handles something this horrible to me and my babies health. Simply do not care.
Update: weed smell 4th night in a row filling my entire apartment! Disgusting!
Unfortunately writing this review on Christmas. We came back from a trip last night walking into our unit being bombed with the smell of weed. Living here for about 4 months now I’ve smelled it in my unit from the front door, vents, and back door but never this bad. After over a half a hour of trying to clear the smell it got worse yet again followed with cigarettes (the smell coming in with our back door shut) being so exhausted and already in bed trying to breath with bedding over my nose because I am pregnant and should not be inhaling this it got so bad we had to go outside to get fresh air. Today is christmas and this happened yet again at night! I hope this isn’t a problem as we have many months left here. Whoever is doing it is most likely next to us or right below our unit. I hope the staff can get this handled asap. We moved from south Florida as this was a huge issue in that area and it really makes this place feel far less than luxury. Our unit unfortunately is placed in the worst spot always smelling for hours from our neighbors cooking grease coming in and lingering but that is tolerable...
